There have been fights back and forth between Kenya and Tanzania concerning COVID-19 tests and measure put in place to curb its spread. The two countries have been having disputable opinions with matters COVID-19 and now this has been taken to another level.
A presser by the Tanzanian government signed by President John Pombe Magufuli claims that the Kenyan government has been exaggerating the test results. They claim that their own tests run in Tanzanian’s capital (more efficient according to them), Dar es Salaam, have proven that most positive cases of truck drivers come from Kenya and not the other way round.
Tanzania states that they even denied many truck drivers entry into their country claiming they reported major cases and thus could not let them in to endanger their own citizen’s lives. This is rather the opposite of the reports given by the Kenyan government at the Tanzanian border in Namanga, that Tanzanian and Kenyan truck drivers leaving Tanzania mostly tested positive and thus denied entry back into Kenya.
