The Roads Fund Board is Government Institution under the Ministry of Works established by the Roads and Fuel tolls Act, CAP 220 of 2006 The Board invites from suitably qualified Tanzanians to fill the following vacancies at its office.
Accountability: Reports to Road Fund Manager
Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes Required:
Must possess at least a bachelor's degree in the field of computer science, computer engineering, software engineering or information technology.
Hands-on administering latest Linux and Windows servers operating systems.
Hands-on windows Active directory and MS Exchange-$erver 2008.
Good working technical knowledge of network systems, protocols, and standards such as Ethernet, LAN, WAN, Wireless, VPN, Firewalls, TCP/IP. DNS, DHCp' HTIP. SMTp' SSL, ssh and so on.
Hands-on database server's administration and maintenance. Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle and MySQL.
Familiarity with software such as those used for administration, configuration management, security and network monitoring.
Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.
Ability to write typical system administration scripts.
Ability to diagnose technical problems such as delays malfunctions and errors in order to determine the true cause of the problem and provide a (workable/reasonable/optimal) solution in a reasonable timeframe.
Ability to think logically and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
Ability to be imaginative and good at creative reasoning.
Ability to be able to work independently or as part of a team.
Have good oral and written communication skills
Ability to be able to accept responsibility
Ability to be willing to continuously update personal IT skills and knowledge
Certification in any of the following will be an added advantage, "Microsoft (Microsoft Certified IT Professional, MCSN MCSE, Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist, etc.), CompTIA (CompTIA A+, CTP+,CDIA+, Network}, etc.), Cisco (CCNA, CCDA, CCNA Security)':
Working experience of not less than 5 years in the field.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Systems Administrator will provide first line support to Road Fund staff, in IT related problems. Specific responsibilities will
include, but are not limited to, the following:
a) Daily checkup of systems/software log files to ensure uninterrupted performance of servers and correctness of systems
performance.
c) Throughout monitoring of systems performance and provide security measures, troubleshooting and maintenance as
needed.
c) Assist system users to diagnose and solve their ICT related problems.
d) Adding/deleting/modifying system users account information, creating new users accounts, resetting system user's
passwords etc.
e) Conducting time to time system performance and tuning.
f) Design and implement systems, network architecture, and network configurations, including hardware and software
technology, site locations, and integration of technologies.
g) Maintain the peripherals, such as printers, that are connected to the network .
h) Identify and recommends to Fund Road Manager the areas of operation that need upgrade, equipment such as Computer, Drop Cables (UTP), fiber optic cables, Hub, Switch, systems software etc.
i) Identify and recommends to Fund Road Manager a way to assure that, systems are working on high availability. (i.e. perform disaster recovery operations, including data backups, which are scheduled and are being taken automatically and tested to assure that, their working).
j) Design information systems and databases, suited to the needs of the organization.
k) Install, configure and test computer hardware, networking software and operating systems software.
I) Maintain and administer organization WAN, LAN and internet systems.
m) Train users in use of ICT equipment and allied ICT software which are being used within the organization.
n) Develop and write procedures for installation, use, and troubleshooting of ICT hardware equipment and software which are used within the organization.
0) Making sure all organization ICT systems designs and ICT systems architectures documentation are present and well-
kept for future use.
AGE LIMIT
Age limit for the above positions is 45 years.
REMUNERATION
A competitive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate for theJabove positions based on qualifications and
