Self Imposed Refugee Ngurumo and the Tale of Bolt in the Eye

_Masondore G. Masondore, Ontario, CA._

Tanzanians are wondering seeing the laughable article titled as “Magufuli Asaidiwe Kuachana na Tamaa ya Urais wa Maisha” which is seen circulating in social media networks since 16th February this year.

The charlatan advisory article has been written by Ansbert Angurumo, a journalist cum politician who got a single vote in the 2015 parliamentary election premaries through Chama Cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo (CHADEMA) in Muleba North constituency.

Ngurumo who is also known to have intellectual madness and brain inconsistency, sought refuge in Finland last year for the pretext of being terrified by unknown people in Tanzania.

It is now known that the real reason for seeking refuge was for him to get a paid place where he can receive funds to manage a series of propaganda for the opposition CHADEMA in their bid to cling into power through deceit and violence.

The Tanzanian diaspora community where I leave in Ontario is very astonishing that our fellow diaspora Ngurumo is daring to advise President John Magufuli not to breach the constitution, in what he believes is the incumbents’ plans to overstay in power, but cannot do the same to his party leaders.

It’s really funny for a person believed to maintain sound mind, though at moments, like Ngurumo to waste time in such a nonsensical argument. How can Magufuli overstay in power? Just how? Cheapest ever propaganda.

Ngurumo’s amateur propaganda reminds me of the tale of the bolt in the eye. That, before he accuses the presumptive case of Magufuli overstaying in power, let him be reminded that he has to remove the bolt in his eyes first; I want to credit Ngurumo as a free thinker and pro good governance advocate-if so, can he tell us what happened to his own party chairman, Freeman Mbowe?

One of the founders of CHADEMA in 1992, Mbowe, has steadily led the party since 2004 (to over stay in power for about 15 years now). Since then Mbowe has been branding himself a good strategist than other members in his party to justify his overstay.

Ngurumo does not see this as a problem but a sacrifice to his party!

It should be noted that during the 15 years of Mbowe in power as the chairman of the party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) has changed the party leadership two times. Does Ngurumo understand this democracy inside CCM?

This is Ngurumo who cannot advise Hon. Mbowe and the party not to get involved into alleged tortures and killings of members of his party who show interest of vying for his post or going against his wishes.

Ngurumo knows clearly that some members like the late Chacha Wangwe were killed because of criticising the dictatorship of Mbowe.

Zitto Kabwe had to employ some tactics like in the 1987 British movie “Escape From Sobibor” to save his life.
Why can’t Ngurumo use properly his pen to advise Hon. Mbowe to tell his party and the public at large the whereabouts of more than tsh 2bn/- subsidy which the Controller and Auditor General (CAG) found to be used for personal gains together with his few syndicates in the party.

The CAG report up to June, 2017 uncovered that the squandered amount was collected from members without being deposited in the bank and their expenditure details were not provided. “Non- banking of revenue collected implies ineffective controls over revenues which expose the political party to risk of misappropriation of funds collected,” states the CAG report

*Poor understanding of Philosophical Political Terms*

Ngurumo uses the words uttered recently by President Magufuli who reiterated the need for his subordinates to ensure speedy project delivery as he (the President) is not sure if the coming leadership will focus on them.

Ngurumo forgets that for more than two times President Magufuli has informed party members and other Tanzanians that the ongoing debate about increasing the presidential term from five to seven years or changing the constitution to stay in power displeases him.

Instead, President Magufuli has been insisting Tanzanians to focus on building the country’s economy. President Magufuli has told the public several times that the debate on extending the term limit is useless he is keen to focus and deliver what he promised and leave office in due time. Ngurumo, the same journalist who blamed Kikwete administration for non delivery, is today unhappy for what Magufuli is delivering in speed and zeal. Shameful.
