President Samia appoints Makonda as Minister for Information as she dismisses Simbachawene as Home Affairs Minister

The President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, has made several appointments and dismissals of government leaders. According to a statement released by the Chief Secretary, Ambassador Dr Moses Kusiluka, the changes are as follows

(i) Hon Patrobas Paschal Katambi MP has been appointed Minister for Home Affairs. Prior to this appointment, Hon Katambi served as Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade. He replaces Hon Boniface George Simbachawene MP, whose appointment has been revoked

(ii) Hon Prof Palamagamba John Aidan Kabudi MP has been appointed Minister of State in the Office of the President at Ikulu for Special Duties. Before this appointment, Prof Kabudi was the Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports

(iii) Hon Paul Christian Makonda MP has been appointed Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports. Before this appointment, Hon Makonda was the Deputy Minister in the same ministry

(iv) Hon Dennis Lazaro Londo MP has been appointed Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade. Prior to this appointment, Hon Londo was the Deputy Minister for Home Affairs
