President Magufuli must read this fantastic article!

Great. Nadhani the right blending was to add component discipline...na rushwa zero zone si ndio? While other components keep.revolving?

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Socialism principles: All grades will be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A.... (substituting grades for dollars - something closer to home and more readily understood by all).

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D! No one was happy.
When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

To their great surprise, ALL FAILED and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed. Could not be any simpler than that. These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read and all applicable to this experiment:

1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.

2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!

5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Can you think of a reason for not sharing this?
Neither could I.

Sorry, I can't see how this could be a relevant analogy to what Magufuli is doing! The fight against graft and embezzlement is in no way equivalent to a wealth redistribution mechanism. The drive is to make sure that no one gets rich by merely engaging in illegal activities, including outright theft of public property and tax evasion!

The country seeks to move from narrow-based prosperity that is overwhelmingly driven by dishonesty to broad-based prosperity that is characterized by hard work and honesty. This is as clear as it gets!

Do u know what is going on in our institution kuhusiana na Jambo unalolizunguzia au unataka wa kwambie

Najua na ndio maana nasema
Kama we n msafi huwez zuia mwenye njaa kula kwako au kuweka kio chini ili uone nyet za mwenzio wakati yeye hajui

5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.
:eek::rolleyes:

It is interesting that these days some people talk of corruption and graft as something of the past! Even here most contributors write in the past tense when refeering to ufisadi. Is it true that corruption and graft are a bygone millieu? Or is it just a wish?
Personally, I think it is too early to believe that we have finally won the war agsinst these evils!

Equity has to do with treating everybody as s/he deserves. Equality is about giving equal treatment!

Conclussion: It is very easy to maķe everybody poor whereas it is impossible to make everybody rich.

I doubt whether the article was really written by a professor of economics. That shouldn't bother me much, I am disappointed with that professor because he never told us which economic system is pragmatically consistent with our economic situation.

Equity is a narrow notion of equality. Equality is a robust idea which needs a normative interpretation. It is absolutely incorrect to say that equality means the same.

Professor of economics or not, he wittingly or unwittingly veered into a misapplication of principles of economics!

Uko sahihi mkuu. Ndio maana katumia kimombo ili watakaosoma wasiwe wengi. Muacheni Rais wetu afanye kazi na bado mtaisoma namba.
JPM jana alisema" Ukiona adui anakusifia rudi nyuma angalia umekosea wapi. Ukiona adui anakuponda ujue umemtwanga"
Hivyo mtoa mada atakuwa katwangwa tu.

Mungu awe naye.
