Four police officers, including a bodyguard attached to the office of the Deputy President, have been arrested in connection with a violent robbery in Kitengela Township.
The suspects, all police constables, identified as Lincoln Ashioya, Tom Odero Abwoga, Samuel Gathitu Ng’ang’a (attached to the DP’s office), and Perminus Muiruri Kamau, are accused of robbing a Congolese national, Djuma Yasin Mumbele, of a diamond necklace valued at (Ksh 250,000) $1,905, (Ksh 390,000)$ 3,000 in cash, (Ksh 45,200) €300, and KSh 500.
The officers, together with a civilian identified only as Eric, who remains at large, allegedly attacked the victim, leaving him with neck and back injuries.
He was treated at Kitengela Level Four Hospital and discharged in stable condition.
The four suspects are currently in custody and are expected to be arraigned before the Kajiado Law Court tomorrow, March 26, 2026.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Isinya is handling the case.
