The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) which is the leading provider of social Security in Tanzania is hereby inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced, dynamic and motivated Tanzanian citizens to immediately fill vacant position currently existing in the Fund.
Position: Chief Legal Services
Scope of the position:
This position is responsible for the legal services function in the Fund. The job holder advises the Director General on all matters pertaining to legal matters. The outputs of this position are therefore reflected in the quality of legal services in the Fund.

Position: Chief Legal Services
Scope of the position:
This position is responsible for the legal services function in the Fund. The job holder advises the Director General on all matters pertaining to legal matters. The outputs of this position are therefore reflected in the quality of legal services in the Fund.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Manage the Legal Services function by formulating short and long term work programmes for legal services, and supervising the implementation of such programmes;
- Provide the Director General with legal advice on all matters relating to the Fund's role and functions;
- Represent the Fund in matters of litigation;
- Provide the Fund with appropriate interpretation of the statutes, contracts, and agreements relating to the role and functions of the Fund;
- Keep custody of all contracts and other legal documents;
- Assist the Director General in the provision of Secretarial services to the Board of Trustees including keeping Board records in safe custody;
- Provide Legal advice to Head of Directorates and Departments;
- Research legislation and other legal aspects pertaining to the social security and to the role and functions of the Fund;
- Prepare periodic reports outlining the performance of the Legal Department; and
- Perform such other related duties as may be assigned by the Director General from time to time.
Distinct areas of expertise and experience
- Possession of a Masters Degree in Law.
- Must be a Registered Advocate
- Minimum of FIVE (5) years experience in Legal functions
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer literacy is a must
- Strong leadership skills
