EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
The Arusha Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (AUWSA) is a legally established entity responsible for the overall operations and management of water supply and sanitation services in Arusha City. It is among of the best Authorities in Tanzania

The core function of the Authority is to deliver excellent water supply and sanitation services for all categories of customers and stakeholders in Arusha City.

In order to attain its vision and mission, AUWSA is seeking to recruit dynamic, experienced, competent and qualified Tanzanians to fill the vacant post within the Authority’s establishment.


HEAD OF LEGAL SERVICES UNIT (Re-advertisement):

Appointing Authority:
Board of Directors.

Reports To: Managing Director.

Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience:
The successful applicant must be / have:
  • Holder of Master’s Degree in Law with bias in Commercial Law, Public Enterprise Law or Business Law from a recognized Institution.
  • Holder of Bachelor Degree in Law with bias in Commercial Law, Public Enterprise Law or Business Law from a recognized Institution
  • Must have successfully completed one year training at the School of Law and registered as an Advocate of the High Court and Subordinate Courts.
  • Holder of a Certificate of Secondary Education /Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education from National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA).
  • Should have at least eight (8) years of relevant work experience out of which at least two (2) years should be in a senior position.
Employment Terms: Unspecified Period Contract

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
  • To advise the Managing Director on all legal issues.
  • To liaise with other National and International Institutions on all matters pertaining to law, contracts, insurance and security matters affecting AUWSA.
  • To supervise drafting of prescribed legal documents and forms of the Authority.
  • To file and appear for criminal and civil proceedings in the court on behalf of the Authority
  • To conduct performance appraisal to all staff under the Unit.
  • To perform any other relevant duties as may be assigned to him/her by the Managing Director

PROJECT PUBLIC RELATION AND COMMUNICATION OFFICER:

Appointing Authority:
Management Appointing Committee.

Reports To: Project coordinator.

Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience:
The successful applicant must be / have:
  • Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Journalism, Mass Communication, Marketing, Communication, Public Relations, Community Development, Sociology, Business Administration (Marketing) or any other approved equivalent qualifications from recognized institution.
  • Masters degree will be added advantage.
  • Certificate of Secondary Education /Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education from National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA).
  • Should have at least four (4) years of relevant work experience. The candidate must have ability to speak and possess good writing skills in English and Kiswahili and be proficient in Computer applications.
Employment Terms: Unspecified Period Contract

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
  • To assist in facilitating project conferences, seminars, ceremonies, etc
  • To assist in the production of Radio and TV programmes for project.
  • To maintain project photographic records of major events.
  • To guide and accompany official visitors to the Authority’s and Project offices and installations.
  • Provide a Social outreach plan developed for the project.
  • Promote social integration in line with the project and provide technical input to Project Implementation Team and guidance on social issues to ensure expected results.
  • Description of relevant aspects of the social and socio-economic conditions in the project area of influence which will serve as the baseline for impact assessment.
  • Assist in addressing all social related issues as needed by the project.
  • To perform any other relevant duties as may be assigned by the respective Project Coordinator.

PLANT OPERATOR GRADE II FOR BACK HOE LOADER AND EXCAVATOR (1 POSTS):

Appointing Authority:
Management Committee.

Reports To: Head of Administration Section.

Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience:
  • Holder of Form IV Certificate and a Class “F & G” Driving License of Operating Plant and ability maintain the operating tools and least one clean year driving record.
  • The candidate must have ability to speak and possess good writing skills in English and Kiswahili.
Nature of Employment: Unspecified Period Contract

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
  • To operate plants and equipments efficiently and effectively.
  • Tokeep in good and safe working condition and identify any defects on plants, equipments and its accessories before and after making any trip.
  • To make regular inspection of Plants and Equipments;
  • To carry out minor repairs to the plants and equipments;
  • To records all trips in the log book;
  • To make sure plants and equipment are clean after work,
  • To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by supervisor.

PACKAGE:
The above vacancy carry an attractive competitive salary and remuneration package in accordance with the qualifications, required skills and experience stated in specific vacant post and AUWSA's Scheme of Service and Salary Structure.

  • Certificates from foreign examination Bodies, Colleges or Universities should be verified by NECTA, NACTE or TCU.
  • Only short-listed candidates (who meet requirements) will be contacted for interview.
  • Applicants who will submit fraudulent documents will be subjected to criminal proceedings.
  • For re-advertisment post (Head of Legal Service Unit), the candidate who applied before are not allowed to re-apply.
  • In addition to the qualifications mentioned, the incumbent is expected to posses the following traits:
    • Excellent communication skill.
    • High integrity and ability to adapt to changes quickly.
    • Capacity to work hard, under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
    • Ability to work under teamwork spirit, establish and maintain effective working relations with different people and stakeholders.
    • Ability to work under minimum supervision.
