MSNBC Refutes Report Chris Hayes' Show Getting Axed

After MSNBC cancelled both Joy Reid and Ronan Farrow‘s shows, another report said Chris Hayes‘s primetime show was next, but the network has officially denied that bit of speculation.

A Daily Beast report overnight cited "two well-placed sources" at MSNBC that All In with Chris Hayes will be cancelled too, Rachel Maddow will move into the 8:00 pm slot, and the network will search for another host for the 9:00 pm slot.

And one of these sources even said, "Going left was a brilliant strategy while it lasted and made hundreds of millions of dollars for Comcast, but now it doesn't work anymore… The goal is to move away from left-wing TV."

But an MSNBC spokesperson told CNN today that Hayes isn't going anywhere:

"Contrary to the rumors from unnamed sources, we have no plans to take Chris Hayes' show off the air, or move Rachel Maddow's show. Our prime time lineup is solid."

The CNN report does note staffers on Hayes‘ show aren't exactly "on solid ground."

Mediaite's Joe Concha wrote earlier today that changing hosts wouldn't really solving the problem; changing management would.
