Margaret Thatcher funeral: a "fitting tribute?"

Margaret Thatcher is a conservative icon.

The first woman and only woman to date to have held the office of prime minister.

She broke the glass ceiling. She was tough as nails. Indeed, she was the Iron Lady.

You either love her or hate her. Respect her or despise her. Either way, she was influential.

And yes, Ronald Reagan has a place in the pantheon of greatest American presidents.

And just in case you didn't know or forgot, in his re-election bid he won 49 out of 50 states. That feat will never be duplicated again.

Undhani kama Romney alingekuwa White House angehudhuria?

I think the reason is not who is in the White House, but aliyekuwa anazikwa.

Wangeweza hata kuhudhuria in their private capacity kama walivyofanya nchi nyngine kama Australia.

I would not put anything past the lunatic fringe liberals. They will stop at nothing to advance their agenda.

I mean, these people, as handful as they are, they have managed to make it look bigger than it really is. They are a determined bunch who staunchly believe in what they believe in.

Who is in the White House matters a lot my friend. Angekuwa Romney trust me angepeleka high level/ high ranking representative.

Lady Thatcher is adored by American conservatives very much but equally despised by liberals.

Without disrespect to Thatcher, I thought it was the conservatives who tried to make the event looks bigger than it really was?

She specifically did not want a state funeral and nor did her family.

She particularly did not wish to lie in state as she thought that was inappropriate.

And she didn't want a fly-past as she thought that was a waste of money.

But the Conservatives wanted to use this event to show how they're loved across the world, only to be snubbed.

That's not her fault. Her wishes were not respected and I blame those who did not respect them.

Whoever decided against her wishes of a private low-key funeral. And to me the decedents wishes are inviolable. They shouldn't have gone against them.

One thing I found interesting is that despite being against the coal miners, she wanted to be cremated.

Now, the coal miners are protesting that there is no more coal left to cremate her body.

The Queen's presence made it a State funeral in all but name.
