  • On Wednesday 16 February 2011 an army ammunitions bunker exploded in the Mbagala district of Dar Es Salaam, near the international airport. We are not aware of any British nationals involved in the incident. The police have set up an evacuation centre at Saba Saba grounds (Kilwa Road). It is believed the evacuation range is currently 10km from the explosion site. We believe the airport is closed but will re-open at first light, after checks have been made, but we advise all British nationals to contact their airline to confirm onward travel. We advise Britsh nationals in the Dar Es Salaam area to be vigilant and avoid any debris that may have originated from the explosion. Please monitor local news and FCO travel advice for updated information.

Wamepinda kivipi? Nakuuliza hili swali sio kama ninawasapoti waingereza. Ingekuwa mabomu yamelipuka uingereza je balozi wetu au taasisi zetu za habari zisingekuwa na jukumu la kuwashauri wabongo waishio huko? Nawasilisha.
