We jamaa TBL walidhamini lini ligi ya bongo?
Amavubi,
sembo mkolaj,
Makoye Matale,nikumbusheni
Tanzania premier league valued at Sh6.5bn: Board
Dar es Salaam. Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) has said they have managed to raise the value of the Mainland League from Sh3.5 billion last season to Sh6.5 billion presently.
Speaking to The Citizen on Sunday, TPLB chief executive officer Silas Mwakibinga said the networth increased because the league attracted more sponsors including Vodacom Tanzania, Azam Television rights and clubs individual sponsorships.
Mwakibinga said the main sponsor, Vodacom Tanzania, has signed a contract to invest a total of Sh2.3 billion for both teams in cash and sports gear.
The sponsor has already given a total of Sh435 million for sports gear to all 14 teams.
He said that Azam Media Group has committed Sh1.8 billion for television rights and the sum of Sh2.4 billion is the individual sponsorship packages for seven teams featuring in the league.
Young African and Simba Sports Clubs secured sponsorship of Tanzania Breweries Limited (TBL) via its Kilimanjaro Premium Lager. The value of sponsorship currently is Sh400 million for a full year.
On the other hand, the defending champions, Azam Football Club, is under sponsorship of the National Microfinance Bank (NMB) in a contract worth Sh1 billion per year.
Also in the list are Mbeya City that secured a sponsorship of Binslum Tyres worth Sh180 million per year; Ndanda FC and Stendi United both having a sponsorship deal from Binslum worth Sh50 million per year; and Coastal Union that secured a Sh120 million per year from Pembe Flour.
