At State House in Nairobi on Monday, President William Ruto swore in 37 new judges to the High Court and the Environment and Lands Court (ELC).
President Ruto oversaw the swearing-in of twelve judges of the COMESA Court of Justice, who are tasked with interpreting and enforcing the COMESA Treaty, in his role as Chairman of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA).
Following a competitive recruitment process, the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) recommended 24 High Court and 13 ELC judges as new Kenyan appointees.
They represent the highest single intake of judges in Kenya's history, which President Ruto said underscores his commitment to strengthening the Judiciary.
