Kenyans on Twitter are unhappy with the Jubilee administration. This is after photos of Jubilee campaign t-shirts being made at a Chinese factory went viral.

The photos, whose authenticity Nairobi News could not confirm, have angered the online community. Users have accused the Jubilee government of fueling unemployment after failing to grant Kenyans the opportunity to make its campaigns merchandise.

Kenyans on Twitter lashed out at the Jubilee leadership for the decision to import campaign merchandise at a time when the country’s small businesses would have benefited from the tender.

Though some defended the Jubilee party, arguing cost effectiveness of bulk production, many felt cheated.

I've asked this before.
I want someone to bring pictures of Nasa printing theirs in Nairobi or anywhere in Kenya.
All campaign T-shirts from both sides are being made and printed in China. It costs 5 times less. That translates to hundreds of millions in savings when you have to print millions of T-shirts.
As I said, not ideal but it's the way it is.

very insulting...the govt is the one with the responsibility to bring jobs to the people....ironically, the same govt is the one that is taking jobs to other countries...there is a big problem because between Odinga and Kenyatta, none of these two leaders can be fully trusted with Kenya's leadership...Odinga will not bring any development in this country...He said, if elected, he would bring rents down in several months.....a very stupid statement if you ask me...besides, out of the many years he has been in parliament representing the people of Kibra, he has absolutely nothing to show for it...he does not have any positive record of development...Isitoshe, has also been involved in numerous corruption scandals...therefore, Odinga is certainly not our savior....on the other hand, Kenyatta is intelligent and bright but his govts' corruption levels are wanting....the vice is eating right into the fabric of this country.... in addition, he has this unattractive habit of worshiping white people...having said this, there is still light at the end of the tunnel because after this election, none of these two names will be seen again in Kenyan politics...so there is hope...

This is a well balanced look at the Kenyan leadership, shooting straight without hypocrisy. Personally am also disappointed at the level of corruption in Kenya today, and no one including the president seems to be ready to tackle it head on.

Uhuru seems to be afraid and scared of stepping on the vice, but even though the few he is acting on like akina Ngilu are received ceremoniously by the opposition which wants to unseat him and 'fight' corruption.
There are moments I feel like denying Uhuru my vote, but when I look at NASA, I just lose hope, again when I look at independents, none of them stands a chance anywhere.

It's not like Nasa are complete outsiders. We've seen them in government and so we have to compare.
NASA was in government in 2013 when they also printed in China. But to be fair, even Trump prints in China. In the US most things are made in China.
You simply can't compete with China and that's not a Jubilee failure.

I agree with each one of your point.....except that bit about worshipping white people. How?

mbona watu hawaezi critisize gava mpaka waingize NASA...gava ikiwa corrupt utaskia NASA pia iko corrupt.SAA ii naskia pia NASA wanaprint China.that's not the way to deal with these issues...nasa kufanya ivyo shouldn't be an excuse.it shows the government is failling somewhere

And this is why we will never end corruption and the other forms of malgovernance in Kenya, whith the supporters of both camps defending their side by accusing the other of also engaging in the same or the other transgressions. Why not just cast our political differences aside and unite in calling our politicians to order.

I am team Uhuru, but for this, I repudiate them. They should act better than the other camp, I expect that of them, esp owinf to the fact that they are in govt.
Huu upuzi ya exchanging accusations tuache. How are we helping our country by doing that? That is why wanaexploit.

nothing personal...just saying it as is..we need a redeemer in this country..Just like MK254, I am not happy with several things this govt has done, however, when I look at the opposition, the so-called 'redeemers' and 'rectifiers' of the mistakes that Jubilee has made, the little hope I have left dies and goes to waste...May God help us...If only Kenyatta decides to hold the bull of corruption by its horns and tackle it, he would probably be the best president we have ever had in our nation's history....

So where do you stand?

African leaders all they care about is the 10%. Had these tshirts were made in Kenya where would that 10% come from? Our leaders are so fuc.king pathetic and they wonder why people kill them.

My friend. I never defended their corruption. I like sticking to the topic at hand, which in this case was printing T-shirts in China.
And I explained the economics behind that.
Even if we are attacking either side, it is good to be reasonable and realistic. China is not just cheaper than Kenya but for the whole world.
It is only a person who really hates Jubilee that will attack them for cost cutting in their party.

But as much as you say we shouldn't mention Nasa when criticizing the government, the double standards by its supporters make it hard to ignore. Sorry.

Hahahs....cost cutting measures, uh?

That is the reason why so many jobs have been lost; these so called cost cutting measures.
