The fifth sea cable that is the fastest is under development and will double the speeds by the end of this year to around 30MbS. By the way, last month users of Zuku, our speeds were increased 60% at the same rate!! so i think lowest zuku home speeds are doing at above 20Mbs at 4,500. Which is quite affordable. Zuku now provides upto 250MbS. Don't know much about Faiba
Home internet - Zuku

It does not come as a surprise...we have numerous under sea cables and i heard two more are being installed...we own it...tanzania pengine wanatumia ya 1990s

and very expensive too

internet connections in Kenya are way to cheap according to the speeds compared to many countries around the world. Cheap bundles in some of the African countries end up being expensive due to speeds. Like in Kenya people prefer Safaricon internet due to its speeds, Airtel, Yu, Orange have cheap internet that people even do want. Actual Airtel bundles are as cheap as free, but no person uses them, people are concerned with speeds not cost, in Kenya

speaking of safaricom the bundles are expensive imagine 50bob for 40mb's and the speed isn't too much as you say unlike tanzania where you can purchase 400mb with the same amount

The prices are quite cheap these days, you are quoting 2013/2014 price, on daily bundle plan, 50 shillings gives you 150mb. Speed by Safaricom is abnormally fast.

But when we are talking about internet we are not much on bundles and Cellular networks, main internet platform lies with distribution on wireless and cable/fiber network which are by far very fast, reliable, stable and cheap in Kenya. with 1000 sh you subscribe to speeds over over 10MBS

Wewe ulikua Kenya mwisho lini.
Safaricom 150mb goes for 50ksh
Vodacom 200mb goes for 1,000tsh

I have traversed the border almost daily and using the two networks, whereas Safaricom is very fast but Tanzania internet is very slow.
I threw my Tigo line away after frustrations. Voda is better but not to the level of Safaricom.

There are times am working on projects that requires very fast internet regardless of the cost.

I recently had to let go of my Halotel too.

i use to live in Kenya until January and in comparing Tanzania bundles and Kenya there's very huge difference as in Tz you'll also be given free minutes and messages. I use to purchase weekly bundles 100bob and i will only have 150mb but later on they increased to 200mb still too low for 100ksh

I don't know January of which year you're referring to.
But the fact that you talking about a weekly bundle of 150mb indicates clearly you're not an internet user.
I use internet for a living, in fact 1gb a day is normally not enough for me. When staying in Bongo for a week I usually buy Voda's 10gb for 12000tsh bundle and still run out before time.

Internet in Tanzania is slightly cheap but slow not good enough for serious use.
