It is said time and time again that Serie A has
fallen behind because the Premier League and
La Liga have massive television deals that
pumps money into their clubs, while Serie A
doesnt. This could be true of you look at it in certain ways,
but in a Serie A purists eyes, it hasnt. Serie A is currently home to some of the greatest
young talents in the world, with Lorenzo Insigne,
Stephan El Shaarawy , Mattia Destro, Erik Lamela.
Mateo Kovacic, Juan Quintero, Paul Pogba, Mattia
De Sciglio, Mario Balotelli, Marcelo Larrondo and
Mattia Perrin all plying their trade in Italys top flight. If you look at the Premier League, there is not that
much young talent showing through, and even
those who are, are not the same quality as they are
in Italy. Eden Hazard is no doubt a quality player and
would fit into most teams starting XI while Oscar
has also looked promising in his first season in
European football. But Englands top two sides;
Manchester United and Manchester City only have
one between them, which is Matija Nastasic, who came from Serie A. La Liga is also a place where young talent can
flourish, but out of Barcelona and Real Madrid,
Raphael Varane is the only starting young player
who is already world class. Since the cash injection in La Liga, teams have
strayed away from their youth schools and started
buying more mature players, and often those who
are talented, like Sergio Canales, go unnoticed.
