JOHN POMBE MAGUFULI: A BLESSED MEMORY, KUMBUKUMBU YA BARAKA

Leo 16:15hrs 10/07/2021

President John Pombe Magufuli came to the World and lived a normal life like any other human being and when the time came to do God's work that brought him to this World, he did the job and when the job was done he died, He returned home to Glory. It's the same to Our Lord Jesus Christ came to the World and lived a normal life like any other human being and when the time came to do God's work that brought him to this World,he did the work and when the work was done, Jesus died, the same to Prophet T.B Joshua of blessed memory and to every God sent.

Let me take you back to June 2015, four months before Tanzanians General election day,John Pombe Magufuli was not seen as the Chama cha Mapinduzi party’s strongest candidate. The front runner had been Edward Lowassa, who had served as prime minister for three years under Mkapa’s successor, Jakaya Kikwete. John Pombe Magufuli eventually won the nomination, which came as a surprise to some within his party.

We know that the Elders like the late President Benjamin Mkapa and other former President quietly pushed the party to nominate John Pombe Magufuli. The former president and other party elders were for the first time advising the ruling party’s central committee on the nomination of the presidential candidate, that was God's plan, The one who was not a strongest Candidate went on to become Tanzania’s fifth president. He did the job to be a President with a difference, that has group him to on the page with the caliber of Kwame Nkrumah, Marcus Garvey, George Padmore, Dr Namd Azikiwe, Dr Web Du Bois, Mwalimu Julius Nyerere and Nelson Mandela.

Part of God's plan, two factors appear to have been critical to Magufuli’s nomination by the Chama cha Mapinduzi and his rise to the presidency. One, that prior to his candidacy, he had not been implicated in any corruption scandal,Two,John Pombe Magufuli was not a politician, throughout his political career before the presidency, Magufuli appeared to eschew party politics. As a minister under Mkapa’s and Kikwete’s administrations, he focused on work, not party politics. This - plus his clean governance record - made him the right Candidate when his party needed a presidential candidate with a clean record and who was not aligned with any party faction.

When speaking of his legacy, one must start with the Magufuli’s effect on Tanzania’s economy. There are mixed feelings about his economic performance. While some assessed him positively others underscored the negative impact of his administrative style, the truth is Beyond politics, Magufuli has left the country in good shape economically. Despite Covid-19, Tanzania was one of the few countries in the world to have a positive economic growth rate in 2020. Not only that, Tanzania achieved middle income status five years ahead of schedule. The infrastructure improvements from roads to airports position Tanzania to continue its growth trajectory.

One of the things that endeared him most to the average Tanzanian was his relentlessness in attacking corruption. The difference that it made in dollars and cents is hard to quantify, but the one thing that is measurable is the greater confidence in government it inspired at the grass roots level. When he became president he sent out a stark message that he intended to banish a lot of the chronic problems in Tanzanian administrative and political leadership. He took over a government plagued by systemic corruption. It was characterised by ghost workers on the payroll, underperformance and laxity in public service, civil service absenteeism, and extravagant spending.

Crucially, he set out to renegotiate and force substantive compromises with multinational corporations to give Tanzania a better deal on mineral exploration within its borders. He also cancelled project contracts with the Chinese, terming some “exploitative and awkward”. This was a sharp break from the previous administration’s softer approach to foreign investors. Magufuli’s hard stance won him a staunch following domestically and in the region, setting off a great deal of praise and inspiring the Twitter hashtag #WhatWouldMagufuliDo? His legacy will also be judged by significant achievements in infrastructure. In January 2021, the Tanzania government awarded the Chinese a contract for the construction of a 341km standard-gauge railway from Mwanza on Lake Victoria to the southern town of Isaka.

John Pombe Magufuli was many things to many people,it is difficult to come to terms with his exit, the rest of us the comrades are left to mourn you. But beyond mourning your departure, we have a duty and responsibility to ensure that your person and your principles receive their deserved place in the history of a Great Tanzania, this World is like a market place where we come to buy things and return home, you have done your part being an Epitome of indigenous Pan Africanism, Nationalism and intellectual Production in Tanzania, thanks President John Pombe Magufuli, of a blessed Memory.

He was a truly son of Africa and was born for special task and it's oblivious that God had special plan with him and after the task was complete he took his servant back.

He played well his part,He fought a good fight, He finished his course, He kept the faith.Henceforth crown of righteousness will be upon him which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give him at that day: and not to him only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.

Amen

God did not took him but Satan taken him to build his kingdom.
