A former US secretary of state Henry Kissinger once said",America has no permanent friends or enemies, only interests".
He went to a greater lengthy delianating the same US foreign policy as saying, It may be dangerous to be America's enemy, but to be America's friend is fatal".
Just as a reminder ,Henry Kissinger
Henry Kissinger served as the U.S. Secretary of State from 1973 to 1977, under Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford. He also held the position of National Security Advisor from 1969 to 1975. As Secretary of State, he was the principal advisor to the President on foreign policy matters and carried out those policies through the U.S. Department of State.
For those experts who are conversant on US foreign policy they would probably agree that the US government still operates under the prescriptions of what Sectary Kissinger echoed almost five decades ago.
In recent times,America has had many heads of states who are friends and foes as well. One of the closest friends of the contemporary America is the Ukraine regime under president Volodymir ZELENSKY.
Since the begining of the war in Ukraine the US has aided Kyiv in multiple fronts. From February 2022 through early January 2025, the U.S. has provided Ukraine with a total of $66.5 billion in military assistance. This includes $65.9 billion since the start of the Biden administration in February 2022, according to The House of Commons Library.
Additionally, the US Congress has passed five major bills since the invasion, totaling $175 billion in spending, with a large portion going to Ukraine and related U.S. activities.
Specifically:
Military Assistance:
As of January 9, 2025, $66.5 billion in military aid has been allocated.
Total Aid (including other activities):
Congress has passed legislation totaling $175 billion for Ukraine and related U.S. activities.
Loan:In December 2024, the U.S. provided a $20 billion loan to be repaid with interest from frozen Russian assets.
Disbursed Funds:
As of early 2025, the U.S. has disbursed $83.4 billion in funding and equipment.
"Allocated" vs. "Disbursed":
While $182.8 billion has been "allocated" for the region since the invasion, this figure includes money that is available but not necessarily spent.
Since the 2014 Ukraine’s Maidan revolution, in which the US aided the overthrow of the Ukraine democratically elected president Victor Yanukovich, the relationship between the United States and Ukraine continues to remain critical under the pretext of security and prosperity in Europe and Eurasia.Bur global analysts know for sure the ongoing war in Ukraine has to do with the neocons cupidity and attempts to destablize Russia with a view of splitting it onto weak constituencies and ultimately strip Russia of its abundant resources. This mission seems to have hit a hard nut indeed as Ukraine is now in terrible shape in terms of human and property losses as a result of the ongoing war.Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelenky, who is considered by EU as a hero and champion for democracy in his own nation, has now run into fatique as he has no cards to win the war.He is just buying time. The western military analysts approximate that Ukraine has lost a total of 1.5 million of its soldiers in the battlefield ,while Russia has lost approximately 300,000 soldiers.Since the war began four years ago,Russia has annexed “four new regions”, calling the residents of Ukraine’s occupied Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions. In February and March 2014, Russia invaded the Crimean Peninsula, part of Ukraine, and then annexed it. This took place in the relative power vacuum immediately following the maiden Revolution.Experts say Russia's annexation of Crimea was primarily aimed at preempting the US from installing its military base at the peninsulla once Ukraine could have become a permanent member of the NATO alliance.
So,when You examine both the military and political trajectory they seem not to favour president ZELENSKY at all. There is no possibility for his puppet regime to defeat Russia despite all necessary support from both the US and Europe.People in Ukrainians don't want this war to persist as they have suffered immensely with no avail.Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the EU and its Member States have mobilised around €150 billion in financial, military and humanitarian assistance to support Ukraine, according to statistics provided by the European Commission.
With all these support it is evident that Ukraine remains fighting a dead end, meaning Zelenky is fighting a war that he is unlikely to win.Only fools and idiots shall believe that Ukraine can defeat Russia in a meaningful way. That isn't gonna happen. In fact this war would probably be resolved in the battlefield and it is Russia that would ultimately dictate the terms of ending the war.Swniour US officials and the Western intelligence units CIA,MNI-6 and probably Mossad understand the fact that Ukraine cannot defeat Russia unless the US send its boots on the ground.Neither the US not European states are willing to take such risk knowing for sure Russia would react with its fiery war machines and that would portend to a nuclear armageddon in which all nations possessing nuclear arsenals would be tempted to use them before they are bombed by other nations. And I think president Donald Trump understands this painful reality about getting into a direct military conformation with Russia.Western analysts such as professor Jefrey Sachs, col Douglas Macgregor,Scott Ritter ,Ambassador Crook and others have clearly stated that the US has not any strategic interests in fighting Russia in order to protect Ukraine. We hope that the Alaska summit between Trump and Vladmir Putin would provide a viable roadmap to permanently end hostilities between Russia and Ukraine.President ZELENSKY has not been invited to the summit though the EU states France,Britain and Germany are pushing for involvement of President Zelenky in the summit.
In my judgement,President ZELENSKY sounds like a fool who has been bamboozled by the West to sacrifice his nation for his political gains. There is no strategic interests for Ukrainians to fight Russia, excepts the interests of ZELENSKY and his nep-Nazis regime in Kyiv.
There are plenitude of evidence to suggest that the current US administration under president Trump is fed up with the ongoing war in Ukraine and the intrasigence by Mr Zelenky to refuse authentic peace deal with Moscow.Mr Zelensky's often sentiments revolve around bellicosity and calling for more sanctions on Moscow.Zelsnsky would have asked himself is a barrage of Western sanctions have really worked against Moscow.Such sanctions have no any significant impact on Russia's economy which is now booming, this is according to the IMF report 2025.
President Trump has suggested over the weekend that both Ukraine and Russia must swap territories as a condition for a ceasefire.Zelesnky has defied the call and vowed not to back off.The real question is:Is ZELENSKY having muscles to ignore the US call for Kyiv to negotiate with Moscow? I think it is time for the US government to stop providing military support to Kyiv so that Zelensky's stubbornness to negotiate would be brought to a halt. The US needs to look for an exit strategy to dump Ukraine without looking stupid in global eyes.I think this is what president Trump is now trying to captivate.
END.
