Immigration office and law

I am a South African citizen,offically married both in SA and Tanzania to a Tanzania citizen.I recently ,end of march,delivered our new baby boy,a new tz citizen.My visa was intitally only extended for a month,even though an official hospital letter stated that i was not in a physical position to travel.This took a trip to immigration office with my new born baby a few weeks old.Again the hospital letter was totally ignored even though i pleaded they read.Only extended till July.,but my new born birthcertificate can only be ready in July.So do they plan to seperate a mother from her new born son?.Where are basic human rights in these official marks of chaos? Can anyone call me065434807 or email nenatenacity@gmail.com

Okay, how does South African law work, if I have a baby in South Africa do they give me some kinda sympathy visa so I can stay with the baby?

In south africa if you are married to a citizen you apply and get a residence permit free of charge. And no mattwer where the baby was born it is possible to get legal papers

I understand that the law here requires a payment of five hundred dollars for a dependant pass. I did npt raise that amount prior to delivery of the baby and intended visiting south africa after he was dellivered.now his birh certificate is not even processed yet. I need an extension urgently

I did not apply for a dependants pass as i intended to go back first to raise the fee for the dependant pass.I did not anticpate his documents would not be processed or i would not get an extension

If still you're in Tanzania just go with your supporting document to immigration hq seek to see the commissioner of immigration talk to him he is very kind person

Or go to your country embassy talk to them hope will help to solve your issue

Consult the South African High Commission in Dar es Salaam and explain your case to any consular assistant therein, the Embassy will find a way to help you out, be it by calling the Immigration office on your behalf or otherwise...that's what they are being paid for anyway!!!!

South african embassy replied they cannot help,,speak to tanzania commission.tanzania commission refuses to extend,,they extended twice three mnths in total after birth of baby!

impossible,,they willing to fast process birth cert,a day before my visa expires.i will never be able to book out at an affordable rate in a few hours!direct contact details plse 068825318

did that ,south african embassy said deal directly with tanz high commission and did not relp with direct contact. Went to immigration in dar,refused further extension,they push to get passport ready on the day of my visa expiry!birth certificate,they said collect later,not typed yet.All in a shambles,,basic human rights not complied to.And @ what affordability can i book a last minute

Any foreigner married to Tanzanian can live in Tanzania with a dependent pass. It is fairly easy to obtain it and your child is automatically given Tanzanian citizenship through your spouse or can have dependent pass like you, should you choose to use only South African passport for your baby. I am advising from personal experience. You have the right to a dependant pass, it you can't afford one, there is nothing your embassy can do, but the law states clearly that you can get one as long as you pay the fee, last time I paid it was $200.

The law cannot work at your convenience. Just because its free to obtain a pass in S.A, don't expect it to be the same in Tanzania. We have the procedure you must follow, ignorance of the law is no excuse. Pay up the fee and get your permit to live here. You should have done your homework instead of expecting our laws to bend backwards to accommodate you. Please show some maturity! This is clearly your own fault, not Tanzanian government's.

Thank you for your reply.The law stature is actually very contentious and debatable.Bend over for me,no,processing baby docs in time for me to exit with him as a basic human right as the baby is fully dependant on me as an under six month child born as a taznanian citizen.I will raise the 500dollar fee for my permit when i can.I ha ave managed to extend my visa through risky ways of crossing th border temporarily. We are talking about human rights here.It was unreasonable not to process the baby documents ,even when given a clear indication of passport expiry.This is what i contend,this is a violation of rights

Then your embassy is good for nothing...like how on earth can they ditch their own citizen, they don't deserve their salaries!

There is absolutely no issue of human rights violations here as you stated. Your embassy can issue a document in which you can use to travel with your baby back to SA. I have easily obtained the birth certificate within 48 hrs of my child being born. I think the issue here is lack of funds and it is not an issue of human rights violations. You should have stayed home and deliver your baby if you have limited financial resources. Next time you want to deliver overseas, be financially prepared!
