Ugandan comedian and radio personality Amooti Omubalanguzi has dismissed reports that he was fired from Beat FM, clarifying that he voluntarily resigned after many years at the station.
Speaking to Sanyuka TV, the celebrated entertainer explained that his departure was a personal decision aimed at giving himself a well-deserved break and reducing the number of responsibilities he has been managing.
“People always want breaking news. But that’s not the case. I requested to take some rest since I’ve worked with them for a very long time,” Amooti said.

He stressed that there was no misunderstanding or fallout between him and the radio station, insisting that claims suggesting he had been dismissed were false.
According to Amooti, the decision to leave Beat FM forms part of a broader plan to lighten his workload and dedicate more time to his flourishing comedy career, content creation, and the activities of the Amarula Family.
Despite stepping away from his radio role, the comedian assured fans that they will continue to see and hear him through various entertainment projects.
