I see it's been a while since this was posted, but just wanted to ask—did you end up going with any of those design ideas? I'm curious how you handled things like water drainage and ventilation, especially for cottages in humid areas. Also, did anyone here ever try using local materials to cut down costs and give the place a more natural look?

I once saw a design that reminded me a bit of bencoolen hotel—simple but clever use of space, with natural flow between rooms and outdoor areas. What stood out was how they created privacy even in a small setting by adjusting window placements and using local materials that blend with the surroundings. That really helped me rethink how to position cottages without overcomplicating the structure.
