Police in Kanungu District have arrested a former student of Butogota Trinity College on suspicion of setting fire to the school's boys' hostel.
The fire broke out at around 9 p.m. on Monday, destroying the hostel and all property belonging to the students housed there.
According to the school's head teacher, Wens Muhwezi, the blaze reduced students' personal belongings to ashes. However, no injuries were reported as the students were attending evening prep classes at the time of the incident.

Authorities are currently compiling an official report as detectives work to establish the circumstances surrounding the fire and the suspect's alleged involvement.
