Egypt Jails 23 men : 23 people have been sentenced to 14 years of prison by the Egyptian court for the killings by an angry mob of 4 Shiite men outside Cairo in 2013.
Those who were killed by the men who got sentenced were among Shiites attacked two years back in Cairo by a mob of hundreds of residents as they gathered at a place in the town of Abu Musallam.
On Saturday, the Egyptian court handed down the sentences while acquitting eight other defendants, a court official said.
Shiites a minority in the country who are very small in numbers in a region which is mostly dominated by the mainly Sunni Muslim Egypt. The Shiites community makes up less than one percent of the population.

Conservatives Islamist preachers have often attacked the Shiite community in sermons, accusing them of being under the influence of Shiite Iran.
In the 2013 attack, the mob threw petrol bombs at the house, that caught fire, and in more horrific news bodies of the victims were dragged through the roads.
The country is predominantly Shia and Sunni Muslim but from only a small minority of the 90-million-strong population.
The incident happened weeks before Mohamed Morsi was toppled as president by the army in the country.
Egypt has long been accused by international rights groups and foreign governments for discriminating against its religious minorities, including Shia, Bahais and Coptic Christians.
