Dr Slaa is just too busy with party engagements

The country's leading opposition party-Chadema yesterday maintained that Dr Wilbroad Slaa remains the party secretary general, describing the circulating rumors as unfounded and baseless.

A number of social media had reported that Dr Slaa had ditched the party because he did not the choice of the former prime minister, Edward Lowassa in the party.

"What is circulating in different media outlets, are just mere rumors which have no elements of truth. Dr Slaa is the Chadema secretary general and he is now busy with party activities and responsibilities," said Charles Makene, the party's communication officer.

According to Makene, people should concentrate on something tangible and shouldn't be misled with political propaganda.

"I don't know where do these people get such wrong information, Dr. Slaa and his deputy John Mnyika were available and they were busy preparing the party's secretariat meeting which is to be held next month," Makene divulged.

Dr. Slaa's absence on Tuesday when Lowassa and his wife were given Chadema membership cards caused a lot of speculations amongst the public, to the extent that some had been claiming that the party's secretary general was against the party's decision of welcoming the former premier into the opposition camp.

I just hope you CHADEMA/UKAWA leaders know what you are doing because otherwise, and unfortenately it seems it is this otherwise, you have yourself to blem when you kill this strong movement and we wont forgive you for this.
It doesnt make sense at all with your attemts to clear the air you end up stirring the confusion with your contradictory statements. Just yesterday hon. Halima Mdee was quotted by Mtanzania reporters to have said Dr. Slaa is on honeymoon vacation and now this party spokesman tells us a different story that the Dr. is just busy with party engagements, confusing, isnt it? I dont think the secretary general can be busy to the extent of not be able to have just 5 minutes to clear this confusion at the expense of prejudicing the interest of the party he has suffer so much to protect. Remember even the comming of Lowassa to the party started as what you call right now as rumours. Get serious a bit guys!
