- FDC Boss Readies For 2011 Presidential Battle With M7

Secrets why FDC boss Dr. Kizza Besigye spent a staggering three months in Europe have leaked exclusively to Red Pepper.
The hoarse voiced politician had traveled to the best hospital abroad for intensive medical attention including alleged purification of his blood through the state of the art treatment method known as oxidation. Besigye left the country in April and returned a few weeks ago.

Close family friends say the FDC stalwart underwent a massive body overhaul in which his blood was purified of all parasites and re-energized before being returned into his body. Sources say Besigye also underwent other medical check ups, had his organs checked, respiratory system serviced and his voice was fine tuned in readiness for the tough campaign ahead of the February 2011 elections.

This was to help the maverick politician to respond to various chemical and temperature changes without difficulty. Doctors reportedly purified Besigye’s blood, killed all foreign substances out of the body and gave him important nutrients to help restore the blood’s normal structure and maximize its performance.

The outer layers (membranes) of red blood cells, for example, can change by tens of nanometers on time scales of tens of milliseconds. The ability to resist disease is also enhanced.

The intense medical care, according to sources, was meant to adequately prepare Besigye who has been under the weather for the highly demanding 2011 presidential and general elections.

The 2011 presidential elections campaign are slightly more than 12 months away. According to the Election Road Map which was recently unveiled by Electoral Commission boss Eng. Badru Kiggundu to diplomats at Hotel Africana, the campaigns will kick off in November next year and elections are slated for February, 2011.
Scribes last Monday at the party headquarters in Najjanankumbi, Kampala were shocked to see a healthier than usual Besigye beaming with blessedness.

He was not sweating (as was the case before he left), his voice was sharper (it had been hoarse), and generally he looked more energetic and fit.

Actually, before he left for Europe, Besigye would sweat profusely during press briefings. “The tough politician would sweat abundantly like musician Sweet Kid at a music concert or as a hunter. He would then soak a huge hankie while wiping litres of sweat from his forehead,” said our reporter who has been consistently covering FDC activities.

“But the man now looks healthier than ever before. His once rugged face now is chocolate-like. He looks more handsome.”

Party insiders intimated to us that presidential candidates use a lot of energy during campaigns and an acute medical overhaul for Besigye’s body was a prerequisite. “One travels and speaks a lot during campaigns. Besigye has not been doing well in terms of health. He had to go for a medical check up early enough since we have already started a grass root campaign programme,” said a close aide to the FDC leader.
The medical cleanup of Besigye’s body is said to have taken two weeks in a plush hospital in London under the close supervision of top doctors. After the overhaul, Besigye was told to have a perfect rest for two months. During this time, he was not supposed to engage in any political work that would stress him.

BED-REST
This was the time when a top FDC activist Tom Jurunga was murdered. The gruesome murder attracted incredible media attention and city demonstrations. Besigye, according to the political immensity of the incident, was expected by party leaders and supporters to return to Kampala but he did not. Relatives tell us he was under bed rest.

In a related development, Besigye was also expected to address three rallies in Kabale in June but never turned up. The party kept on postponing the political gatherings pending his return. And indeed when he turned up recently, he rushed to the western Uganda district where he addressed his supporters.

NRM FACES HARD TIME
Political analysts say the development will surely send ripples down the spines of the ruling NRM party officials since Besigye has made it public that he will run against Museveni for a third time. Besigye has contested against Museveni in 2001 and 2006 presidential elections but failed. In fact most NRM bosses knew Besigye would not contest for the third time for health reasons. But the man is back in action and with a bang.
In every presidential election, Besigye’s votes skyrocket by a wide percentage yet those for the NRM take a harrowing nosedive.

TAKING OVER
During a press conference last Monday, Besigye said the plan to take over power in 2011 had been finalized.
He added that he was seriously training his men to protect their votes from being stolen by NRM. “We are now stronger than ever. NRM will not steal our votes. We are aware Police Chief Maj. Gen. Kale Kayihura is training kiboko squad but we shall deal with his men,” a healthy Besigye charged.

The Red Pepper is a tabloid. Notice the writing style. They do not even the name of the hospital and the country. All in all the Red Pepper is a popular Ugandan tabloid.

Besigye (read besiege) is sick with AIDS! All Ugandans know this. and all inuendos in the Red Pepper were directed towards bringing this fact home. So, Ugandans beware of electing kaput come 2011.
