See how absurd is this quote,
Uganda immigration department officer, James Walube said: "We are claiming that East African Community is back, but how can it be in place when a country harshly expels people from a member country?"
This official who is charged to observe that Ugandan immigration laws are adhered to would like to see those of Tanzania being violated under pretext of fostering the said Community, lol!
The recent forced deportation of thousands of East Africans from Tanzania has seen the break-up of families, as those affected were forced to leave behind spouses, children and property acquired over four decades of their exile.

Being an East African does not give a green light to live anywhere among member states. A Tanzanian can not go to Kenya and own a piece of land like Kenyans do in Tanzania, like that in Rwanda and the rest. Big up HE Jakaya Kikwete for cleaning up the country.
This report does not mention Kenyans as among the deportees. It only talks of Rwandans, Burundians and Ugandans. How then do you drag in Kenya?
Deportation currently being done is for ALL foreigners, including Kenya (some of them deported already). Is there any country in EAC supporting ILLEGAL immigration? Certainly not....then stop crying and receive your citizens.
EAC hasn't signed such an accord. The Ugandan officer must have been out of his mind. He should be reminded that each member state has its immigration laws to be adhered.
Immigration laws of any country are discriminative in nature. Laws have no option for favoritism. I have been in all EAC countries, but not without proper documents. Otherwise you are in trouble.

I see! If that is the way then many of the deportees will surely suffer from the situation. I thought The Immigration Laws were not discriminative in nature but the condition is totally contrary to my imagination. I think the only way that could help is to keep them in the camps for short time while the said EAC affected members working out the problem to clear the situation at hand.
We can't keep them in camps because they are not refugees! we gave them a favor of more than 2 weeks to turn back!, otherwise they deserved 6 months in prison-according to the law!

Tutasikia kelele na tungo nyingi this time. So what? The title was actually to have read ' Deportations affect East Africans' ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS'.
------- kabisa four decades hujahalalisha ukazi wako utajijua mwenyewe. Hata ulaya hawakubali tabia kama hizi kila uchwao sio UK wala USA wanawafukuza wahamiaji haramu bila mkwaruzo wowote. Kenya na Uganda kwa sababu wana huruma sana wawachukue wawalee.
Good move by serikali ya Tanzania ukombozi tulimaliza SA walipopata uhuru.
A while ago in a separate thread in this forum i suggested that the more than 650,000 Somali refugees in Kenya should relocate back to their home country to aid in nation building now that there is a semblance of peace and order in that country. Quite a number of forumers (sp) were not happy with my suggestion. If it is in order for TZ to do this, then it should also be in order for Kenya to do likewise. Why the double standards?
