A senior military officer has died in a tragic road accident along the Nakuru-Mogotio Road in Rongai, Nakuru County. Lieutenant Colonel Stephen Chebii, attached to the Kenya Army in Eldoret, lost his life on Monday night at about 10:50 p.m. when his Toyota Rush rammed into a stationary Fuso lorry in the Mercy Njeri area. Police reports indicate the lorry had been left dangerously parked on the roadway as the officer drove from Nakuru towards Kabarnet. The incident has sparked fresh calls for enhanced road safety measures and stricter enforcement against reckless parking on highways.
