HEADS of State have continued to send congratulatory messages to President Jakaya Kikwete for being re-elected in the just held general elections.
A statement issued on Saturday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation indicated that President Hu Jintao of the Peoples Republic of China and Nicolas Sarkozy of France have sent the messages.
Mr Jintao said the re-election was a clear testimony of Tanzanians trust in President Kikwete.
According to him, under Kikwetes leadership, the government and Tanzanians will achieve big developments and the government of China will cement the relations of the two countries.
Mr Sarkozy said President Kikwete will be a good link from Africa in discussions next year when France will host G8 and G20.
Other countries that have sent congratulatory messages include the Vatican, Japan, Russia, Oman, Norway, Denmark, Sychelles and Vietnam. Others are South Korea, Libya, Kenya, Rwanda, Sudan, Namibia, Egypt and Zambia.
