Inaripoti vyanzo katika kikosi cha Afrika Kusini SANDF vikisema agizo la kuanza kufunga virago lilikuja kabla tu ya wikendi iliyopita. SAMIDRC ina vikosi kutoka nchi za Afrika ya Kusini, Malawi na Tanzania vilivyokuwa nchini DR Congo kwa mwaliko wa serikali ya Kinshasa.
Chapisho hili linaripoti zaidi, vifaa na wafanyakazi watasafiri katika misafara mbalimbali kupitia Rwanda hadi Chato kaskazini-magharibi mwa Tanzania. Mji wa kando ya Ziwa Viktoria wenye uwanja wa ndege , kilomita 500 kutoka Goma na Sake DR Congo, utakuwa eneo la mwisho kabla ya kugawanyika kwa vikosi vyake kwa ajili ya kurejeshwa katika nchi zao.
"Hatuachi chochote nyuma," mwanajeshi wa Afrika Kusini anaripotiwa kusema, na mwingine kwenye rekodi akisema "Kama tunavyojua, Kikosi cha Sapoti ya Haraka (QRF) kitaondoka mwisho kutoa ulinzi katika mkia wa msafara mzima."
"Agizo tulilopewa linasema ifikapo Mei 30 kila mtu na kila kitu kinapaswa kuwa nje ya Goma na njia yake. Ilikuwa pilikapilika mwishoni mwa juma, lakini hakuna anayelalamika kwa sababu hatimaye tunarudi nyumbani," mwanajeshi mmoja anaripotiwa kusema.
defenceWeb inaelewa kuwa hatua hiyo imeanza, huku mizinga ikihamishwa kuanzia Jumanne tarehe 29 Aprili 2025. Waasi wa M23 wanaoungwa mkono na Rwanda wanaodhibiti Goma na Sake inaonekana wamekuwa wakiratibu na wakikagua vifaa vinavyoondoka vya SAMIDRC, jambo ambalo limewakera wanajeshi.
Maagizo ya kufungasha na kuondoka yanalingana na mpango wa wakuu wa ulinzi wa majeshi ya nchi hizo tatu TCC zenye majeshi chini ya mwamvuli wa SAMIDRC waliopendekezwa katika mkutano wa Aprili 11, 2025 jijini Dar es Salaam Tanzania na wawakilishi wa SADC. Wakuu hao walionyesha kufadhaika kuhusu kucheleweshwa kwa SADC kukarabati na kuandaa njia ya ndege ya uwanja wa ndege wa Goma ambayo bado inashikiliwa na waasi hivyo kuafiki njia ya kupita Rwanda hadi Chato Tanzania. Lakini hatimaye rais Paul Kagame aliafiki majeshi ya SADC ya SAMIDRC watumie njia ya kupitia Rwanda yenye usalama wa kuaminika kuondoa majeshi hayo wageni wa serikali ya Kinshasa hadi Chato.
Tshabalala said a reconnaissance mission, which included representatives from Malawi, South Africa, Tanzania and the Sadc secretariat was conducted from April 14 to 19 to assess and confirm the withdrawal route from Goma through Rwanda to Chato, Geita region in Tanzania towards the respective TCC home countries.
“The team’s findings informed the finalisation of the withdrawal plan. This plan will ensure the safe and efficient return of personnel and assets.
“The withdrawal will take place in phases and the SANDF will provide regular updates to the public regarding the safe return of our soldiers to South Africa,” he said.
defenceWeb understands that the move has begun, with artillery being moved as from Tuesday 29 April. The Rwanda-backed M23 rebels controlling Goma and Sake have apparently been inspecting outgoing SAMIDRC equipment, much to the irritation of soldiers.
The pack up and go orders correspond with the plan the defence chiefs of the three SAMIDRC TCC proposed at an 11 April meeting in Dar es Salaam with SADC representatives. The chiefs voiced frustration about the delay in SADC repairing and preparing the Goma airport runway still held by the rebels.

They proposed the withdrawal, earlier agreed to by M23 senior military hierarchy, continue by road. The SADC secretariat had to obtain Rwandan approval for safe passage through the country. It was later reported in Rwandan media that President Paul Kagame approved secure passage for SAMIDRC.

Lakini hatimaye rais Paul Kagame aliafiki majeshi ya SADC ya SAMIDRC watumie njia ya kupitia Rwanda yenye usalama wa kuaminika kuondoa majeshi hayo wageni wa serikali ya Kinshasa hadi Chato.
