Opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, has raised alarm over the continued disappearance of Natabi Fauzia, also known as Maama Kyeyune, who was allegedly abducted by armed men in military uniform.

In a statement shared on his X platform, Kyagulanyi said Fauzia, the wife of his personal assistant Don Sheriff Najja, was taken from her home on March 12, 2026, during a raid reportedly targeting him. He noted that she has not been seen since, now over two weeks after the incident.
According to Kyagulanyi, the abduction was captured on video, showing armed men dressed in Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) uniforms forcing her into a vehicle commonly referred to as a “drone” before driving away. He faulted both the Uganda Police and the UPDF for failing to provide any explanation regarding the identity of the individuals involved or Fauzia’s whereabouts.

Kyagulanyi stated that multiple efforts have been made to trace her, including reporting the matter to security agencies, filing complaints with human rights organizations, and initiating legal proceedings to compel authorities to produce her in court.
He added that an application related to the case was scheduled to be heard at the High Court in Kampala on April 1, seeking accountability for her disappearance.
Despite these efforts, he said, Fauzia remains missing, leaving her family in distress and uncertainty.
Kyagulanyi called for her immediate and unconditional release or for authorities to present her before a competent court of law if there are any charges against her.
“No family deserves to go through this. No citizen should disappear without explanation,” he said, urging authorities to act and uphold the rule of law.
