POLICE Tuesday morning put opposition leader Dr. Kizza Besigye's under preventive arrest at his home at Kasangati in Wakiso district.

Sources say that Besigye is among the opposition pressure group, Activists for Change (A4c) set to address the Press over the allegedl police brutality during protests at their offices along Katongo Road in Kampala.

Victims of the alleged police brutality will be given a chance to narrate their ordeals.

Addressing journalists at his home, Besigye said,"I had no intentions of leaving my home today. I do not know who gave them (police) wrong information that I was set to travel to Kampala. Anyway that's how the Ugandan police operate."

Police have in the past blocked Besigye from leaving his home at the height of walk-to- work protests early last year.
