Amid tensions, Burundi blocks vehicles from entering Rwanda

Authorities in Burundi are preventing public transport vehicles from crossing the border into Rwanda, in an escalation of tensions over allegations that Rwanda backs rebels opposed to Burundi's government.

The operators of some passenger buses transporting people between the two countries say they have been stopped by Burundian border officials who ask passengers to leave the vehicles and cross the border on foot.

Pierre Nkurikiye, a spokesman for Burundian police, says the government wants to stop all food exports from Burundi, which faces a possible food crisis amid political violence following the president's decision last year to seek a third term.

Burundi's government accuses Rwandan authorities of training and arming rebels with the aim of removing President Pierre Nkurunziza, allegations Rwanda denies.

It a common phenomenal where the refugees from one country are hosted by her neighbour just across the border.
The situation is even worse if the hurt party(the refugees) and the hosting country ruling tribe are one( the same tribe).
It is difficult to say whether Burundi's accusations or Rwanda's counter denials which are true. However the reality of existing dense tension, the escalating hostility and cross border clashes between the two neighbours it is not uncommon scenario.
The Rwandans especially the Tutsi have no confidence in Burundi's Hutu President and vice versa is truth. Thus the mistrust between the two groups should be dissolved for possible future bridging of the now widening hostility gap between the two countries.
