I'm using an old 12ft ancient mesh dish .. as usual I suspect this is for their own internal use, not for direct domestic consumption

Hi Folks, Thanks to Kungu1 and his crew for this platform, as now am enjoying their fruits. I started following this forum from page 300 plus and knowledge acquired I managed to secure the 7w, 7.3w and 8w on one lnb on 120cm offset with eurostar es10 receiver. My next ASAS is getting Kenyan Mux. Meanwhile, I saw a damaged 6ft PF dish in a shop in Kakamega I am really thinking of getting it but two panels are dented I need your advise also on getting its stand and lnb arms as the owner can recall where they are.

hi guys, newbie here. 1.130cm offset vs 180cm pf which one would offer better reception assuming all other parameters are the same.....
2. will painting my dish a different colour other than white, apart from attracting crows(niko mombasa, kunguru ni wengi)and aliens, affect my reception
3. Offset and PF dishes can use the same lnb just that you need a holder for the pf...?
planning to go for the hunt this easter assuming i wont be too high :eyebrows:

welcome onboard ,it will depend with what you want to hunt plus availability of space, but I'm very sure you will end up owning both as your ASAS DESEASE becomes chronic. I'm also in COAST PRIVINCE (VOI --TAITA TAVETA) & I have 100cm,130cm,6ft pf & 8ft pf my next project 8ft OFFSET

thanks for the quick reply....space is limited. Am in Mombasa town centre and am after eurosat 7A &yahsat for the movie channels.

A cheap sat finder in the region of ksh.1000 also works wonders. I had covered this in an earlier post.

I get them on 90cm dish, hd-studio s280 ace and h-h motor here in dar es salaam with signal strength at 90% and quality 74% but the sound cracks,I don't know what's wrong, please help

you can opt for NILESAT instead of YAHSAT using 120 or 130cm but for 7A you need a big dish ie 8ft pf but 8ft OFFSET will bring the bird down with ease .I'm currently using 8ft pf for the 7°E hitting green on few tps hosting NATGEO PPLE ,BBC ENT & KNOWLEDGE, MCM TOP,VH1,with ANIMAL PLANET cracking a lot during the day
