HAPPY NEW YEAR TO THE WHOLE FTA FAMILY. today I happened to bump into the above reciever being priced at 200,000ugx with the label of my hd and mbc hd. I would like to inquire from the house whether this box would work and the issue of activating. Thanks in advance.

I doubt. The satellite beams are too far away, unless you're willing to invest in a humongous B.U.D.

Hello satmates,
i have qsat q116, i see there is ethernet pot, usb port, and sim card slot at the back of the decoder, and there is ana antena written beside gprs. In options inside i find there is youtube, iptv, cccam,avartar. How can i use youtube and iptv?

Hi, Kindly check post no #9889 or thereabouts. I believe the Dansat receiver will work. For more information, PM lagat as he seems to be the MyHD expert.

I am sure you must have seen it at Master Electronics on Bombo Rd.
I was also surprised when I saw them (I saw more than one).
I asked the Asian shop owners to show me what is actually inside the box and yes it was the
real thing with its smart card inside held by an official MY HD seal. I was told that they are not
activated and you have to do the activation on your own. I asked an installer who has ever done
it and he told me its no big deal. Just a call to Dubai and in about 5 minutes the channels will be
dancing on your HD screen and best of all, no other payment required for the next 12 months.

OVHD on IS 20 freq. 11170 V 28800 seems to be on the Southern Africa Beam. I am not sure you can get it easily in Eastern Africa and even then, I don't believe that it can be stronger than the frequency on SES 5.
OVHD has 2 frequencies on SES 5 namely 12073 H 27500 and 11996 H 27500 which seem to be interconnected if you are
using only their decoder. You have to make sure both frequencies are listed in the search menu and you will notice that
sometimes there is no signal on the quality bar at 12073 H. But if 11996 H has signal the channels will show even if the other frequency shows nil. If you are using any other FTA receiver of sat finder meter to scan you will get even more confused.
Non-OVHD receivers will show a very strong signal on 11996 H and will even scan the channels properly but you will not be able to see their promo channel here. The only OVHD promo channel you will be able to see is the one on 12073 H.
I have an OVHD decoder and I have never had any problems with it.

Tried to watch Amos 5 and Eutelsat 16A on Azam TV decoder. Only a few channels (TPs) open. Anybody knows why and how to go around it?

Ps. Azam has only two TPs on Eutelsat 7A african beam.
