AFRICAN AND A FOREIGN GOVERNING SYSTEM
After examining what is going on in Africa and right now in Kenya I am forced to ask myself a few questions:
1. Why did we abandon our traditional governing systems of Chiefs and Queens? Well things are not all rosy in Swaziland, Lesotho and Morocco but st least we have not witnessed post election violence and sometimes massacre like in other countries!...
2. Why are we forcing ourself to apply a foreign governing system that has clearly failed our nations? Why do we keep dreaming that one day it will work for us? We know for sure in our homes right from childhood we go through the a traditional governing system where our father,'s decisions rule supreme!
Only now and then our mother's can decide issues. Do we expect a person who spend 30 formative years under such a system to change and adopt a foreign governing system? Let us say it clearly our culture and traditions are incompartible with this foreign system of governance. We are forcing a camel to drink cocacola while what it is used to is pure water!
It is time we rethink on how we should govern ourselves. Let's go back to the system that is in harmony with our culture and traditions. The Africa in us will not leave us!
