The U.S. Mission in Dar es Salaam is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Assistant at Office of Security Cooperation

Duties
Key role player in the implementation of the U.S. Security Cooperation Program for Tanzania in accordance with the Theater Campaign Plan and Mission Strategic Plan and maintaining the security cooperation relationship between the Tanzania military, government ministries and synchronizing theater, interagency, and international goals.

Assists in developing, planning, and coordinating the execution of African Contingency Operations Training and Assistance (ACOTA); Senior Leader Engagements; Foreign Military Financing (FMP) grants; International Military Education and Training (IMET); Military-to-Military engagements; Humanitarian Assistance projects and Africa Partnership Station events.

Responsible for a spending budget of $1.5 million in IMET, Counter Terrorism Fellows Program (CTFP) and Foreign Military Services (FMS). Supervised by Chief of Office of Security Cooperation. (OSC).

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:
Expirience
: Minimum of 5 years of experience in public service in the areas of administrative management, training program administration or human resources in the securities institutions such as military, police, or guard force is required.

Education Requirements:
University degree in either Law, Political Science, Sociology, History or Economics is required.
Evaluations:

Language: Level IV (fluent) in English (reading writing and speaking) is required and Kiswahili Level IV (fluent) (reading writing and speaking) is required. (this may be tested)

Skills and abilities: Driver’s license class B and D is also required.

The certification letter should be on letterhead of the appropriate military branch of the service and contain (1) the military service dates including the expected discharge or release date; and (2) the character of service. Acceptable documentation must be submitted in order for the preference to be given.
  • This level of preference applies to all Foreign Service employees on LWOP and CS with re-employment rights back to their agency or burea.
