Act of Giving

There's always something you can give. No one is ever too poor to give; a smile, a hug, a compliment, a meal, a word, a touch. Have you ever paused to thank your local grocery shop for bringing you fresh vegetables and fruits almost to your doorstep? Ever said hello to your boda or taxi guy before you begin your journey? Do you ever stop to help the blind man, or the school kid cross the road? Ever thought of the casual laborer who works at your office, serves tea, cleans; the one who hasn't been paid for several months? Do you ever pray for the friends; I mean fervently and earnestly pray for the lonely, jobless, perhaps burden ridden friends? I will insist that we all have something we can give, at any given time. Be a light to another. Giving doesn't have to be financial. Sometimes, even a smile, a call, a tear can mean the world to another. ~Notes on giving~
