Chinese corporations with the financial support of the Chinese government bribe politicians in Tanzania and elsewhere in Africa and the developing world, so it can bring in its businesses and factories. The Chinese government is unscrupulous in how it allows its corporations to do business around the world. The US, on the other hand, prevents its corporations from bribing foreign governments. The fines are sever. (Walmarts fine of bribing Mexican officials amounted to about $750 million is an example.) The US needs to figure how it can step up its participation in these economies.Secondly, Tanzania and all other African nations, need to deal with the recent wave of poaching seriously. Africans elephants (and other wildlife) are under vicious attack and slaughter by China and other east Asian nations. Tanzania should consider severe fines, expelling those involved and should insist that the Chinese government loudly condemn poaching and make the possession and trading of ivory and other wildlife products a serious crime.Thrid, Chinas factories and corporations in Africa hardly hire local workers. Not only do they import workers from China, they bring in prisoners to work in them if they cant get enough paid Chinese laborers.
