Very composed, very fulfilling text.
I have never for once doubted the Biblical text. In fact I have always believed that the times we are in have been predicted to the full by God through his biblical prophets.
In exemplary, I have recently embarked on reading the end time prophecies depicted in the old testament book of Daniel (from Chapter 7 onwards) and I am convinced these foretell with all certainty the coming judgement day and end of the world we live in.
Daniel, from chaper 8 reads;
8 In the third year of King Belshazzars reign, I, Daniel, had a vision, after the one that had already appeared to me. 2 In my vision I saw myself in the citadel of Susa in the province of Elam; in the vision I was beside the Ulai Canal. 3 I looked up, and there before me was a ram with two horns, standing beside the canal, and the horns were long. One of the horns was longer than the other but grew up later. 4 I watched the ram as it charged toward the west and the north and the south. No animal could stand against it, and none could rescue from its power. It did as it pleased and became great.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]As I was thinking about this, suddenly a goat with a prominent horn between its eyes came from the west, crossing the whole earth without touching the ground. [SUP]6 [/SUP]It came toward the two-horned ram I had seen standing beside the canal and charged at it in great rage. [SUP]7 [/SUP]I saw it attack the ram furiously, striking the ram and shattering its two horns. The ram was powerless to stand against it; the goat knocked it to the ground and trampled on it, and none could rescue the ram from its power. [SUP]8 [/SUP]The goat became very great, but at the height of its power the large horn was broken off, and in its place four prominent horns grew up toward the four winds of heaven.
An interpretation of the ram and the goat are given in the same chapter as;
[SUP]
19 [/SUP]He said: I am going to tell you what will happen later in the time of wrath,because the vision concerns the appointed time of the end.[SUP][c][/SUP] [SUP]20 [/SUP]The two-horned ram that you saw represents the kings of Media and Persia. [SUP]21 [/SUP]The shaggy goat is the king of Greece, and the large horn between its eyes is the first king.[SUP]22 [/SUP]The four horns that replaced the one that was broken off represent four kingdoms that will emerge from his nation but will not have the same power.
The two kings of Media and Persia mentioned above seem to be those of modern day Iraq and Iran. And the Greece mentioned refers to the current United States of America (i.e. the use of the word Greece in the New Testament refers to educated people/Gentiles/those who seek wisdom and civilization rather than Christ and not literally people from the nation Greece).
As Iraq was the smaller of the two kingdoms and had already been attacked by USA, Iran will grow bigger for sometime before it is also attacked by the goat from the west (USA). A recent speech in the US assembly by the Israel prime Mr. Netanyahu is a vivid depiction of a probable move to such intent.
The Bible has also predicted timings for such events. In Daniel chapter 8 still, the Angel of God mentioned the timings to Daniel;
[SUP]
13 [/SUP]Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to him, How long will it take for the vision to be fulfilledthe vision concerning the daily sacrifice, the rebellion that causes desolation, the surrender of the sanctuary and the trampling underfoot of the Lords people?
[SUP]14 [/SUP]He said to me, It will take 2,300 evenings and mornings; then the sanctuary will be reconsecrated.
I love the holy BIBLE.
