Almost every one of us have one common goal in life - to achieve real happiness. The greatest factor holding us back from reaching our dreams is, sadly, ourselves. Stop making life more complicated and just live your life

Let's look at what you need TO LET GO of to become a happier person.

1. Other people's approval
At the end of the day, who gives a sh*t what other people think? If 'you' are happy with the choices you've made, then whose business is that other than your own? Think of how much you could achieve if you stopped allowing other people's opinions govern how you live your life. Take the actions YOU think is good for your life, and let other's do the same.

2. The Past
Stop living in the past! There is absolutely nothing to be gained from wallowing about mistakes you have made in the past. You can only take those past mistakes as lessons learned, and choose to move forward. You cannot move on to a better future if you're constantly looking behind you. Things have happened, and that's that. Use it as an opportunity to move on.

3. Anger and Resentment
Try to make peace with the people who have wronged you. It's not about letting the other person off for whatever they've done to you, it's about reducing the pain that echoes within you. Try keeping in mind that the one who angers you, controls you.

4. The Idea Of The Perfect Partner
There is no such thing as a perfect partner, so best you burn your checklist. In life, what keeps us from moving forward is looking at the perfect image of a partner we concoct in our minds. Find the right person for you: one that you can love with all your heart, one you feel comfortable with and one that accepts you for the person you are. The sooner you realize there isn't one perfect person out there for you, the better off you will be.

5. Having the Perfect Life
Just like there's no perfect partner, there is also no perfect life. Life is what you add into or subtract from it, so if you don't want to work hard or put forth the effort, you'll likely end up miserable. The choices you make reflect the life that you have. Ultimately, it's up to you to create the best possible life for yourself.

6. Making Excuses
Don't give in to excuses. Excuses only rationalise you feeling better about when you don't do something you want to or need to be doing. Do you want results? Sorry to be blunt, but you gotta stop bitching, and just start doing.

7.Not Taking Responsibility
This may be hard to admit, but sometimes you are just wrong. The law of cause and effect says, that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Whenever you take any action, there are consequences that follow. You need to take responsibility when you do something you shouldn't have done. There's nothing wrong with stepping up and admitting your wrong, infact it's one of the most important things needed to have close relationships and it can help you gain more respect from others.

8. Procrastinating
Stop thinking that you'll finally do whatever task you have tomorrow. The best thing you can do is decide to live in the present, and get your stuff done when it needs to be done. Before you know it, one day turns into two, then a week etc. Maximize the time you have by completing each task you you have as soon as you can. You will feel less stressed by getting things out the way as soon as possible. You also free up more time for yourself to enjoy the things you love.

9. Your Baggage From The Past
We've all been hurt at some point or another by someone we have loved, or thought we loved. However, to carry negative feelings into our future relationships will be nothing but disastrous. Remember, no two people are the same, and it's unfair to hold your future partner to standards set by your ex. You must start each new relationship on a clean slate.

10. Negativity
Whatever you put out into the universe does come back to you, so if you're constantly negative, you must begin to change your thinking, immediately! In challenging times, it’s easier to think negative thoughts, and even make pessimistic comments. If you repeatedly think and talk about what's wrong in your life, you will get more of that, whether wanted or unwanted.

You do have much to be grateful for, if you just took a moment to appreciate it. When you're positive about life, then anything is possible.

11. Judgmental Thoughts
Why do people feel like they constantly need to worry about what's happening in other people's lives? We can't afford to worry about anybody else's behaviour accept our own. Besides, you don't know what may be going on in another person's life, so why would you want to pass judgement on how others act?

12. Jealousy
Happiness is not about having what you want but rather, wanting what you have. Stop being envious of others and start learning to appreciate what you already have. Everyone's life is unique. You have some things to offer that others don't. Acting in a jealous manner only brings more negative feelings into our lives.

When you start to develop jealousy toward a person, delet that feeling immediately you are giving them power.
