ACSEE stands for Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (also known as Form Six or Kidato cha Sita exams) in Tanzania.

It is the national A-Level examination administered by the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) to students who have completed two years of advanced secondary education (Forms 5 and 6).

  • Eligibility: Candidates must have completed advanced-level secondary education and typically need at least three credits (or equivalent) in their prior Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE/Form Four).
  • Exam Schedule: Usually held in the first week of May each year (e.g., May 2025 for the 2025 cycle).
  • Subjects: Students choose combinations (e.g., science, arts, business) from subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, History, Geography, Economics, Kiswahili, English, and others. They generally take three principal subjects plus General Studies.
  • Grading System: Uses letter grades with points:
    • A (80–100) → Excellent (5 points)
    • B (70–79) → Very Good (4 points)
    • C (60–69) → Good (3 points)
    • D (50–59) → Average (2 points)
    • E (40–49) → Satisfactory (1 point)
    • S (35–39) → Subsidiary (0.5 points, often for subsidiary passes)
    • F (0–34) → Fail (0 points)
    • Pass requires at least three subsidiary passes or better (often two principal passes for university entry, depending on the program).
  • Performance Analysis: Results are released around July (e.g., July 2025 for ACSEE 2025), allowing time for university applications, HESLB student loans, etc.

    2. Select your exam year and filter by school/center code or name.
    3. Enter your index number (candidate number) to view individual results.
    4. Alternative: Check via SMS (e.g., through mobile networks like Vodacom, Airtel, or Tigo—dial 15200# > ELIMU > follow prompts).
    5. Third-party sites like maktaba.tetea.org or wazaelimu.com mirror results for easier access.
