    1. Anajaribu kutuaminisha udini upo - kati ya Wakristo na Waislamu - na anajenga hoja kuwa makundi haya mawili yalipiga kura kidini. Ana data au anafikiria hivyo?

    2. Anajenga hoja pia Waislamu waliamua kutumia udini baada ya kuona Wakristo wakitumia makanisa kuwanadi wagombea wao (Wakristo). Ana data pia kwa hili? Mfano, Kanisa gani, lini na yaliyosemwa kuhusu hao wagombea yalikuwa yapi? Vinginevyo M.M. Mwanakijiji naye anaanza kuwa mpiga debe wa udini.

    3. Nijuavyo mimi udini ni wakati mtu anapopata haki zake za msingi kama ajira, elimu, afya na huduma nyingine za jamii hadi hapo tu anapoonesha ni wa dini fulani.

    4. M.M. Mwanakijiji amesahau mchango wa vyombo vya habari katika kuwajengea wananchi wa kawaida dhana ya kile anachokiita 'udini wa kijinga...'

    5. Binafsi naamini Tanzania hakuna udini ila kunajengeka imani ya uadui wa kidini (religious conflict) kati ya Uislamu na Ukristo... target likiwa hasa dhidi ya Kanisa Katoliki. Nasema hili maana mihadhara mingi ambayo nimepata bahati kuhudhuria maudhui yake ni hayo. Pia kuna mabishano ya kidini Kariakoo karibu kila siku kati ya vijana Wailsamu na Wakristo - Waislamu wakiwatuhumu Wakristo kuwa walimpigia kura Dr Slaa na Wakristo, kwamba wamekuwa wakipendelewa kiajira na kielimu na huduma nyingine za jamii. Mawazo ya M.M. Mwanakijiji yanashabihiana na hayo.

    Narudia: Nchi hii haina udini. Ila kinachoanza kujengeka ni mfarakano kwa kiimani unaotokana na kukosa dira. Inawezekana a type of spiritual vaccuum is taking place - believers are 'wordhipping idols' and longing for the true deity. Katika hali kama hiyo ni rahisi to turn against each other!

    Soma kwa makini makala yake utaelewa anasema ukweli kwa kiwango kikubwa!

    Udini unaletwa na viongozi wapenda madaraka, mbona tukiwa hatuna uchaguzi mambo ya udini huwa hayasikiki?. Na kama hatutakuwa makini wanasiasa watafanya udini uamie hata kwenye mazungumzo yetu mtaani na huo utakuwa mwisho wetu.

    Sijasoma Article ya Mkuu..... Lakini my Comment kuhusu this so Called Udini; To me is just the stupidity of the few who will capitalise on anything as the means to a certain end. Mfano watu hao hao kama leo wote tukiwa dini moja basi itakuwa kabila; wote tukiwa kabila moja basi wataingia kwenye maumbile; Therefore there is no Cure with such people wenye upeo mfupi wa mawazo..... unfortunately hao watu tunao kwenye every walk of life.. If we give them our time and energy leo tutakuwa tunatibu udini; kesho ukabila; keshokutwa who knows....

    The only thing is to learn to live with our differences, and see people based on their characters. Religion and tribes should not be an issue.

    Personally I think its not such as issue yet but few people deliberately or not they might be turning it into an issue. Why Highlight our differences, in the eyes of our government, society we should be the same.

    Katika kuendelea kuchangia kuhusu makala ya M.M. Mwanakijiji iliyochapishwa jana (Desemba 28, 2010) kwenye gazeti la TanzaniaDaima bado nasisitiza kuwa Tanzania haina udini kama mwandishi anavyotaka tuamini ila kunaanza kujengeka mfarakano wa kiimani (spiritual vacuum) na kupoteza mwelekeo au dira. Hili linapotokea katika imani, matokeo yake ni kuanza kufanya kinachoitwa kwenye psychology (projection) – kuhamisha matatizo binafsi na kuwatupia wengine kuwa chanzo cha hayo matatizo – na kuwa na mashaka juu yao, wakati tatizo ni mtu mwenyewe anayefanya hivyo.

    Hili ndilo lipo na linajionesha pale waumini wa dhehebu au dini moja wanapoanza kufikiri walinyimwa fursa ya kusoma na ajira kutokana na kuwa na Rais ambaye hakuwa wa dini yao enzi za utawala wa Awamu ya Kwanza na ya Tatu. Lakini cha kujiuliza ni kwamba kama enzi za marais Wakristo, Waislamu walinyimwa fursa za kusoma na ajira, je ilikuwa hivyo pia kwa waumini wa dini za jadi na dini nyingine zisizo Ukristo wala Uislamu au sera za serikali kwa marais hao ziliwalenga Waislamu peke yao?

    M.M. Mwanakijiji anadai kuwa kwa nini ni wakati huu tu wa Awamu ya Nne (ya Rais Mwislamu, Jakaya Kikwete) na siyo wakati wa Awamu ya Tatu (ya Rais Mkristo, Benjamin Mkapa) Wakristo wanakosoa serikali? Hili swali silo la M.M. Mwanakijiji bali ni swali ambalo huwa linaulizwa na Waislamu wenyewe. Nasema hivi kwa vile hoja nyingi zinazotolewa na Waislamu sehemu mbalimbali hapa nchini zinakuwa pia na madai kuwa walinyimwa fursa ya kusoma na kupata ajira nzuri serikalini kwa vile marais wa enzi hizo wanazodai walikuwa Wakristo/Wakatoliki (Nyerere na Mkapa).

    Anadai pia kinachotokea sasa – watu kuhoji kuhusu utendaji na uwajibikaji wa serikali - ni kwa sababu tu ya kuwa na Rais Mwislamu na hivyo "naturally" Waislamu wanaona hawana budi kumwunga mkono Mwislamu mwenzao dhidi ya wakosoaji Wakristo. Lakini kufanya hivi, wanaweka ‘precedent' kwamba ikitokea Rais akawa Mkristo basi kwa msimamo kama huo wanakuwa hawana sababu ya kumkosoa kwa lolote kwa vile kufanya hivyo kutaonesha pia wanafanya hivyo kwa vile siyo Rais Mwislamu. Kanisa Katoliki, na hata makanisa mengine, limekuwa likikosoa panapodhihirika uovu umetokea au unaonekana utatokea au unaweza kutokea na siyo kufuata rais gani anatawala nchi kama dhana hii inavyotaka kujengeka.

    Waislamu wanauliza kwa vile Rais wa Awamu ya Kwanza (Mwalimu Julius Nyerere) alikuwa Mkristo (Mkatoliki), kwa nini maaskofu hawakuwahi kuandika waraka wowote enzi hizo kukosoa serikali yake bali leo kwa vile Rais ni Mwislamu wanaandika? Swali hili linaulizwa kwa kutojua kwa vile naamini hakuna hata mtu mmoja anayeweza kuthibitisha kuwa maaskofu hawakuwahi kuandika waraka wowote wakati wa awamu ya Kwanza (Rais Mkristo/Mkatoliki) au ya Tatu (Rais Mkristo/Mkatoliki) wakati nyaraka za kichungaji (pastoral letters) zinaandikwa kila mwaka ndani ya Kanisa Katoliki duniani kote kuanzika karne kadhaa huko nyuma! Kwenye baadhi ya hotuba zake, Mwalimu mwenyewe ameeleza jinsi alivyokuwa akipata upinzani wa maaskofu kwa baadhi ya mambo aliyotaka kuyafanya nchini. Halafu leo mtu anaibuka na kusema ‘maaskofu hawakuwahi kumkosoa/mpinga' kwa vile alikuwa wa dhehebu lao! Anayesema hivi anasema kumfrahisha nani?

    1. Nataka tu nioneshe kuwa hata enzi za awamu ya Mwalimu Nyerere (1960s-1980s) na Mkapa (1995-2005) nyaraka za Kanisa Katoliki zilikuwa zikiandikwa. Moja ya nyaraka zilizoandikwa na Kanisa Katoliki wakati wa Awamu ya Kwanza unaitwa Africans and the Christian Way of Life. Waraka huu uliandikwa wakati wa Tanganyika na lengo lilikuwa kutetea haki ya uhuru wa kutoa mawazo na kuvumiliana.

    Sehemu ya waraka huu inasema: "Tanganyika is a country of many semi-independent tribes each with its own dialect, laws, customs, elders and chiefs. The present government is responsible for the development of political institutions and for guiding the destiny of the people as a whole, in order to ensure for them, now and in the future, the progress and security that is necessary for independent nations in a highly complex and competitive world. For the goal desired by all is a self-governing territory and the preparatory work in view of this is proceeding at a gradual but ever quickening pace."

    Kuhusu umiliki wa mali binafsi, waraka unasema: "The law of nature entitling a human person to private property has been challenged by all peoples of all times and regarded universally as being the surest way to peace and order in human affairs… In recent times, however, this right has been challenged in the name of communism. It is sufficient here to remark that communism is little more than a diabolical attempt to abolish not only the rights of a person but also those of God. Indeed, its creed is that there is no God… A human person requires to own not simply things which are rapidly consumable or worn out such as food and clothes but also things, which are stable, permanent and productive as, for example, land, a house, shop or factory… One of the most shameful crimes any government can commit is to tolerate a state of affairs whereby a few live in luxury alongside the many, whom they exploit and condemn to want. We shall pray and work with you (the faithful) to prevent Tanganyika from falling victim to this social plague."

    Tukumbuke kuwa pamoja na Rais Julius Nyerere kuwa Mkatoliki, Kanisa Katoliki nchini lilidhani pengine siasa ya ujamaa na kujitegemea ilikuwa njia ya kuandaa ukomunisti na hivyo kuleta mtafaruku wa kiimani nchini – kwani ukomunisti haumjui Mungu. Na hivyo, sehemu hii ya waraka ililenga kuionya serikali kuhusu madhara ya ukomunisti.

    2. Mojawapo ya nyaraka za Kanisa Katoliki enzi za utawala wa Rais Mkapa unaitwa Good Conscience – Vision of our Nation. Waraka huu uliandikwa wakati nchi ilikuwa inaanza kutekeleza sera za uliberali wa uchumi na ubinafsishaji. Sehemu ya waraka huu inasema:

    "Free economy is intended to raise the productivity by giving individuals the capacity of producing and thereby raising the standards of living of Tanzanians. In order to reach that goal it is important:
    · To develop income control mechanisms, to ensure that taxes are duly collected and social services improved for all people.
    · To make sure that foreign currency is used for the development of our nation. Yet, what we are experiencing is different. Even though the market economy is expected to raise the income of the nation, we experience a decrease in the income of the majority and an increase in the prices consumer goods.
    · Our money is exported through illegal channels.
    · Joint ventures are undertaken without the knowledge and consent of the people.
    · We are forced to accept loans with conditions favouring foreign interests.
    · Some commercial enterprises evade paying taxes and when this is discovered their cases are not followed up.
    · Cost sharing exercises, which have been introduced by the government with regard to essential social services neither take into consideration the people's real income nor the fact that the people are not justly rewarded for their sweat."

    M.M Mwanakijiji na wadau wengine wataotaka kujua zaidi kama wakati wa Nyerere na Mkapa Kanisa Katoliki lilikuwa likiikosoa serikali wanaweza kwenda kwenye parokia zilizo karibu nao na waombe nakala za baadhi ya nyaraka zilizoandikwa na maaskofu wakati huo (1960s-1980s) na (1995-2005). Ni heri mtu aandike kitu akiwa na data kuliko kutoa kichwani tu!

    Kitu kingine, ambacho mwandishi inabidi ajue ni kwamba ongezeko la vyombo vya habari nchini miaka ya hivi karibuni kumechangia kwa kiasi kikubwa kwa baadhi ya mambo kufahamika kwa urahisi zaidi kuliko ilivyokuwa zamani. Nadhani enzi za rais Nyerere si waandishi wengi walikuwa wakienda makanisani au miskitini kupata habari. Leo hii kila ibada ya misa au ibada zinazaofanyika misikitini kuna waandishi wa habari na hivyo habari zinafahamika kiurahisi zaidi. Halafu siku hizi za karibuni baadhi ya tume na waandishi wa habari za uchunguzi wamekuwa wakiibua mambo mbalimbali na machapisho yao tumeyaona na hii pia imesaidia viongozi wa dini kuweza kujifunza jinsi nchi inavyoenda na kutolea kauli baadhi ya mambo mfano ufisadi, Richmond, Dowans, Kagoda, Meremeta, Rada, mikataba mibovu ya madini nk.

    Hivyo, kuhoji kuwa kwa nini miaka ya nyuma mambo haya hayakuibuliwa na viongozi wa dini ni pamoja na kuuliza pia kwa nini hayakuibuliwa na vyombo vya habari au tume kwa wakati huo. Jibu sahihi ni kwamba jamii inakuwa na hata viongozi wa dini wanendelea kujifunza na kuwajibika zaidi kulingana na fursa zilizopo leo kuliko ilivyokuwa zamani. Pia uwezo wa kuhoji vitu unaendelea kuongezeka kadiri siku zinavyozindi kusonga mbele – Tanganyika ya 1960 ya watu takribani milioni 9 ni tofauti na ya leo ya watu milioni takribani 45.

    Ninachotaka kusema kuwa viongozi wa dini hawawezi kutolea kauli kitu ambacho hawajakithibitisha na kama wakifanya, watatoa kauli isiyo na uzito sana kwa vile wanakuwa bado hawajui ukweli wake ukoje. Pale inapodhihirika kuna uovu fulani umetendeka au inaonekana utatendeka au inaelekea utandeka hapo ndipo wanapokemea kwa ukali zaidi. Kwa hiyo, si haki kuwalaumu pale ambapo wanashindwa kutoa kauli kwa vile jambo lenyewe bado limefichika au halifahamiki ukweli wake vizuri.

    Shida ninayoona mimi ni jinsi wanasiasa wanavyotumia vyombo vya habari kupotosha jamii. Mfano mzuri ni jinsi ambavyo kutengwa kwa Wakatoliki kwenye parokia mojawapo huko Sumbawanga kulivyoanza kuripotiwa na gazeti la HabariLeo – likilenga kuiaminisha jamii kuwa kwa waliotengwa ilikuwa ni kwa sababu ya tofauti za itikadi za kisiasa za Kanisa kumpendelea mgombea wa Chadema kuliko wa CCM na baada ya mgombea wa Chadema kushindwa ilibidi wafuasi wa mgombea wa CCM watengwe na Kanisa.

    Gazeti la Mwananchikwa upande wake lilifanya uchunguzi kuhusu suala hili ili kubaini ukweli na hivi karibuni liripoti kuwa waliotengwa walikuwa wamekiuka imani na mafundisho ya Kanisa lao wakati wa kampeni za uchaguzi mkuu na siyo kama ilivyokuwa ikiripotiwa na gazeti mojawapo. Kuna habari nyingi, ambazo tunaona jinsi vyombo vya habari vinavyotumika vibaya na wanasiasa na matajiri kuipotosha jamii. Hili ni tatizo linalojenga uhasama na chuki kwenye jamii lakini kwa vyombo vya habari ni kuongeza pato kwa kuuza nakara nyingi zaidi na kupata matangazo.

    Tukumbuke pia gazeti lililoanzisha mjadala kuwa "Kanisa Katoliki limeandika waraka kuwashawishi waumini wake wamchague Rais Mkristo" lilikuwa The SundayCitizen mwezi Aprili au Mei hivi mwaka huu wakati waraka huo ulikuwa umetolewa Januari. Baadhi ya waandishi wa habari waliousoma waraka huo waliona haukuwa na jambo jipya kwani karibu mawazo yote ni yale yaliyokuwa yakijadiliwa na watu wa kada mbalimbali nchini. Lakini kichwa cha habari cha The SundayCitizen kilibadili mantiki ya mjadala mzima kutoka elimu ya uraia kuhusu uchaguzi mkuu kuwa Kanisa Katoliki kumchagua rais Mkristo. Watu wakiwa wakitoa maoni juu ya maoni ya mhariri wa The SundayCitizen bila kuutafuta waraka husika na kuusoma wenyewe. Mhariri aliweka kichwa cha habari chenye utata kwa sababu anazozijua mwenyewe ingawa habari yenyewe ilikuwa tofauti kabisa na kichwa chenyewe. Na baada ya gazeti hilo kuuza nakala nyingi kutokana na kichwa hicho cha habari tata, leo hii msuguano umebaki kati ya Uislamu na Ukristo na siyo gazeti lililochochea.

    Nadhani tumejifunza vya kutosha kutokana na uchaguzi mkuu wa mwaka huu jinsi vyombo vya habari vya watu binafsi na hata vya madhehebu ya dini fulani vilivyokuwa vikichochea anachokiita M.M. MwanaKijiji "udini wa kijinga". Nina imani kwa Tanzania ninayoifahamu, udini hautawezekana licha ya baadhi ya watu kuona ni mtaji wao wa kuonekana wamesema kitu cha maana wakisema "udini upo". Kuna baadhi ya 'religious fanatics' lakini hawa ni mtu mmoja mmoja na hata kama wakisikuilizwa na baadhi ya watu huwa wanapuuzwa muda mfupi baadaye. Siamini kabisa eti zaidi ya nusu ya Watanzania wataweza kuingizwa kwenye upuuzi wa aina hii wa kuanza kubaguana au kuuana kwa sababu ya tofauti ya dini zao. Ila kupitia ushbiki wa kisiasa kwa vile baadhi ya watu wananufaika na upuuzi wa aina hiyo. Nawaomba wadau wote tuwe positive kuhusu nchi yetu - tunaweza kujivuna tuna uvumilivu wa kidini! Kama una mashaka uliza wanaotoka kwenye nchi zenye machafuko watakwmbia ubaguzi wa kidini huwa uko je. Kwa upande mwingine, tuendelee kuwapuuza wanaopandikiza chiki za kidini, kisiasa au kikabila katika nyoyo za Watanzania. Kama sisi wana JF - ambao ni great thinkers - tukiwa 'peacemakers' ni wazi tutakuwa na 'influence' kwa watu wengi. Tukipandikiza chuki nayo itaenea na tutawaambukiza watu wengi pia. So, it's up to us!

    To me magobe ameonyesha wazi kwamba udini wa kijinga ulikuwepo toka awamu zilizopita so in fact anakubali udini wa kijinga upo... labda kwasbabu ameamua kujichanganya.. sina la kusema
