Zimbabwe has begun rolling out a new long-acting HIV prevention injection called Lenacapavir, becoming one of the first countries in the world to introduce the treatment.

The injection is administered twice a year and is designed to help prevent HIV infection, especially for people at higher risk. Health officials say the new approach could improve prevention efforts by reducing the daily pills

Zimbabwe has made significant progress in the fight against HIV over the years, but new infections remain a concern, particularly among young women and vulnerable communities.
