Ten Gomba District officials have been arrested over alleged corruption, while the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) has been interdicted for three months to pave the way for investigations.
The arrests and interdiction were ordered by the Special Presidential Assistant on Service Delivery and Monitoring, Yiga Kisakyamukama.
Those arrested include the District Education Officer (DEO), the District Engineer and members of his team, the District Health Officer (DHO), and a Parish Development Model (PDM) official, among others.
The CAO has been interdicted to allow investigations into the expenditure of Shs28 billion allocated to Gomba District by the government.
The investigations are expected to establish how the funds were utilised and whether there were any cases of financial mismanagement or corruption.
