Of all three Presidents that has ever had, ni Kibaki tu aliyepigiwa kura
halali in 2002. Kenyatta's rise to the Presidency was not by election,
alifanya kupewa na Odinga (who by the way refused the offer from the
British on conditon that Kenyatta is released from jail). Kenyatta alipotoka
jela na kuchukua uongozi alibadilisha katiba yote to combine the
Presidency, Premiership na Parliamentary powers into one big entity that
listended to no one nor entertained questions.That happened approximately
between 1964 - 1978 aliofariki.

Moi naye alipopata u-vice president akafanya mtindo ule ule alipofariki
Kenyatta. Hakuna kura iliopigwa baada ya kifo cha Kenyatta hapo 1978
na to make it worse, Moi turned Kenya into a totalitarian one party state
where KANU was mama na baba wa taifa all in one. Kisha from then on
Kenyans never saw a true election mpaka 2002 ambako kura za wananchi
zilipomngatua Moi mamlakani.

Hapo sasa utawalaumu wakenya kivipi?

Kisha unatoa kauli eti Moi was a bright leader..hebu toa mifano
inayo-support hio hoja.How do you define the word 'bright' by the way?
Ni matamshi kama hayo ambayo yanapoteza watu hapa Africa. Mtu mbaya
ni mbaya tu. Moi hakusoma na alijirundika na watu wa caliber yake na
hao ndio mamluki walioharibu uchumi wa Kenya kwa kiwango kikubwa.
Kuna wakati hela ilikua inachapishwa Kenya without regard for the
later consequences. Unadhani Moi angekua bright kama unavyosema
Kenya ingekumbwa na runaway inflation ambao ilisababisha bei ya
unga wa ugali na mkate kupanda karibu kila mwezi? Kenya kuna wakati
ilikua rahisi kula chapati kuliko kusonga ugali...chakula cha walalahoi.

Kisha mwishowe unajicontradict by saying this... .."Peace is Useless if
Nothing is Right". That was exactly what Moi was doing...maintaining a
false sense of peace yet he was killing his own Ministers in the background
simply becasue he feared they were becoming too popular. Kisha akaanza
skirmish kibao za kuwauwa wakikuyu waliokua wanaishi mitaa ya bonde la
ufa (Rift Valley). The folks that he trained and armed during the period when
the multiparty system was being heralded in Kenya, were not disarmed when
he left office. These are the same people who ressurrected baada ya fujo
za kura za '07.

Kwa hivyo, you are doing great diservice to the people who lost their lives
through his incompetence and sins of ommission and commision, when you
tell them Moi was a bright leader. He was the biggest tribalist that Kenya
ever saw and the most crude landgrabber second only to Kenyatta.

Multiparty came in and Moi was able to win the elections. He opted to retire and picked the weak candidate who was outsmarted. But again of whoever was elected wouldn't have changed the land regime. Someone has to come up and tell Kenyans what is going to do on the land issue on a readable piece of paper and thereafter people decide to go for voting the right candidate.
..When I said, there is no need of peace when everything is not right.... I meant peple have the right to risk the peace the think they have to put everything right... In Tanzania for example, we hail Nyerere not that he wasn't bad but b/se we also the few things he did right... There was also cold torturing, vanish and home jail of many who happened to differ with Mwalimu. It is not only African leaders, It is about all leading regime in the world be it in America or Europe, there is alot of things not well be spoken as those who know the facts will never get time to tell out the tale... You may expound more... We need strong institutions that can tell the president, this is wrong or you are now tired please take a back seat and let others drive...
