We all face the problem of unemployment in our countries. Fraudsters are taking the advantage to find how to defraud those who need jobs by creating fake job adverts online. These scams are all over the world and unfortunately as people are desperately need jobs, they easily caught in a trap. They are called 419 Advance Fee Frauds/Swindles. 419 is a Nigerian Criminal Code dealing with fraud.
In Tanzania we used to find online job adverts through many blogs such as ZOOM TANZANIA, BRIGHTER MONDAY, KAZIBONGO, etc. Unfortunately these fraudsters can post their scam E-mails through these blogs and job seekers will apply accordingly by assuming it is the normal job advert.
These people are smart, they will respond to your application and give you more instructions about interviews and other procedures. Sometimes these jobs are for international vacancies which require applicants from different nations.
The jobs are said to be offered by Multinational Corporations with big names to attract you. For example recently we have this one from HANCOCK PETROLEUM REFINERY COMPANY AUSTRALIA. This is a scam which at the end they will require you to send money by pretending it is a processing fee for either visa or work permit which is the fraud by itself.
By just simple verification, you can realize that the company is fake because it has no physical address, no website; mode of interview is fake, too much salary and fringe benefits compared to the work itself, no true location, contradicting names (Refining or Refinery?), questionable e-mail address etc.
For more information, read the below paragraphs which I found on the internet relating these scams;
