TODAY IN HISTORY

Moi and his henchmen killed Bishop Kipsang-Muge in a stage managed road accident at a place nowadays called Stend Muge a few yards before Omega Junction on the Eldoret Webuye road.

The Anglican cleric was a thorn in the flesh of Moi's dictatorship.

His mausoleum stands at St Mathews Cathedral in Eldoret.

We remember this tough crusader of good governance, very unlike the hungry tumbo mbele acrobats we have for pastors, who dine with the oppressors.

Before the arrogant Ng'ang'a, the flamboyant Natasha, the confused Owuor, the flashy Kiuna, the mad Kanyari etc, we had not just Muge, but Manasses Kuria, Ndingi Mwana Nzeki, John Henry Okullu, Gitari and other who cared for justice.

Nowadays Anglican bishops only feature in the news when they've been murdered after being found chewing someone's wife, like sugarcane.

WE WILL NEVER FORGET MUGE
