In what may be termed as a shame, incompetence and lack of patriotism to some opposition parties in Tanzania, the Controller and Auditor General ( CAG) has stated clearly that there was no theft of ths 1.5tn/- from the national coffers during the 2016/2017 FY as propagated by opposition parties.

The CAG report released yesterday and circulated to both local and international media stated clearly that there were some procedures that were not put properly by officers from the Ministry of finance but not the theft of the said amount from the reserve fund.

“I wonder why the opposition parties are even misleading the clean and good report of the Public Accounts Committee ( PAC), the parliamentary standing committee that stated clearly that there was no such theft/loss from the national reserve fund,” states the CAG.

The CAG reports comes at the right time when the opposition parties led by Chama Cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo (CHADEMA) in collaboration with Zitto Kabwe MP had prepared the document to be circulated to all embassies and Tanzanian donors to tell them that the funds were stolen and used to pay opposition politicians who crossed to Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) last year.
The document which was handled to CHADEMA’s Secretary of Foreign Affairs John Mrema by BAWACHA Secretary Grace Tendega yesterday in Dar es Salaam to be circulated to all donors has now lacked the essence after the CAG report.

The opposition parties have for along time making lies to donors inside and outside the country about the government and great works performed by President John Magufuli who is committed to make Tanzania the middle income country by 2025.

The opposition needs to understand that their betraying behaviors are not against President Magufuli but all Tanzanians at large. Tanzanians are supposed to stand with President Magufuli for their future betterment.
