Lets face it, we have a corrupt system in place that's governing us....and we have a stronger but lousy opposition now wanting to topple that rotten system...the system had cluster of individuals seeking authority and control....and we know at least now that the system has been behind all those nasty and spiteful actions against their old 'cub' culminating into his political ostracism....But in order to succeed in that mission, the movement needed a guy with stupendous support....we are then subsequently eye and ear-witnessing a time when the opposition can genuinely win an election....I was down with the movement, why lie?! I believed we were on the same track. Til they switched pace and signed with the devil. Dude was made by the system that we don't want. That very system, decided they couldn't trust and run with him. But the movement chose to run with him to get rid of the system. That's like human beings adopting a cub that's ousted from the pride that's been terrorizing them, hoping when it grows bigger, it'll save them from the pride.
It is not the guy who wants the seat so much....It is the opposition parties that have been aiming for so long to put their 'change' into action by unseating the ruling party....no political party want want to stay opposing for decades....I can't help but wonder, why in the world does the dude want the seat so much?? And why does the system swear to never give-up the seat, no matter what??
At least we might have the opposition guys in the executive...countries that have tried changing have seen progress...the way things are, we can't just opt for the status quo....so, no matter how self-absorbed we are and our individualism, ousting the ruling party can make a significant impact to millions of lives....To me, none of these fools give a rat's butt about us or the country. All of them are just in it for their own agendas. And for that, I've decided that I will not stand by any of them. They motto is *** me, so mine is *** 'em as well.
Well, how do you know you'll have a 'President', when you don't recall the last time you had one? If you are implying, that the incumbent President had a lackluster performance...then try somebody else..the good thing about that is that you have a better chance of holding your government accountable....BTW, whoever wins, I'm just happy we'll at least have a chance of having a President. Cuz I can't really recall the last time we had one.

I can tell tell you...this is a time since 1992 when the system really sees the possibility of going down....Don't assume they would have played humble with a different person...so I think that is what the guy gets by being a pawn in the opposition's chess game.....At least we might have the opposition guys in the executive...countries that have tried changing have seen progress...the way things are, we can't just opt for the status quo....so, no matter how self-absorbed we are and our individualism, ousting the ruling party can make a significant impact to millions of lives....

Lets not disremember, it is literally owing to the opposition that the guy finally secured a bona fide chance to run for President....CDM chair said, 'it wasn'teasy' and series of late night meetings took place plus clear undemocratic events in Dodoma which CDM chair said 'excited them'.....the guy then ultimately turned against the system....It is apparent, he was opposition's wild card.....You can't be lousy and stronger at the same time JD's, it doesn't make sense to me. Talking about individuals seeking authority and control, ain't that what the opposition's main man's about? I mean, the only reason he turned against the system, is because he couldn't get it his way.
There is zilch like mass pennyworth….I attended their campaign launch....CDM as a political party has its own sources of funds...It would have been ridiculous that the guy'scontributions cannot be allowed in their pool....well, at least they're not taking it from the national treasury.....Are you kidding me? Whose money and tactics are they running on? Isn't he throwing money around buying the mass into rallying with him? But i agree with you to some extent there, it's not him alone.
Those two statements are contradictory.....you acknowledge that changes are necessary, only that you don't know what those changes are!....Changes are necessary i agree, but how we bring about those changes, and what changes we are bringng is what I'm not convinced of, yet.
You can't precisely tell about that considering the nature of the green leadership we had all along, it becomes clearer that one can't expect much from the guys in green.....At the time our 'George Bush' ascended into throne, nobody knew that a decade after we would be where we are presently....a lot could have been achieved......My point is, we've got to try out another team...when they fail,we further try a distinct team....there'll be a lot of advancements that way....You clearly missed my point there. I mean't whoever takes over the office, can't be any worse than our 'George Bush' who's been in there for a couple of years.
I hope that CCM have learnt a lesson from Kenya.....Looking at Kikwete's movements, I can tell that his interests are at risk but I believe that with the growth of self determination and ICT, people will vote and count their own votes....
CCM might be planning some election rigging as they have done before as part of their efforts to disregard the voters' voice.....But I think their success will depend in part on UKAWA's weaknesses....
UKAWA has to make sure that thousands of people attending their political rallies actually turn up the same way on the voting day....
In this election everyone has a role to play to make sure that the election results are nothing but genuine....
Those two statements are contradictory.....you acknowledge that changes are necessary, only that you don't know what those changes are!....
Yeah JD's. I acknowledge we need changes. But not resurrecting the dead or whatever kinda changes, not pardoning the convicted kinda changes, that i'm not down for.
The changes i'm thinking, are not only kicking the system out, but take back everything they ever robbed us and make them pay for that. But since the movement's key player is among those that were supposed to answer for that, and he's the one that will be calling the shots, I don't see no change happening.
Anyway, let me not kill your vibes. You buy what Politicians sell you, good for you. But i'd advice you to keep all your receipts, so you can have a chance of at least getting back some of your money, after you find out all you bought was straight bs. Cheers brother.
Here is my reading on your statements above:
RED: Nobody was convicted....Big changes starts with small changes
GOLD: That is possible but not achievable by 100%....Buhari is still struggling with that, Zambian opposition spent their entire first term in office following the lost money, little progress was made....
VIOLET: He is out there tossing balls with the President and his team....There has never been any accountability on the part of the government against him for ogdoad years....
LIME: You missed the point....
BLUE: I don't trust politicians that much....There is no perfect system in the world but that shouldn't impede us to work towards perfection....All I'm looking for is at least more accountability, more progress, more transparency, more prosperity, more respect and more freedom....and I'm just not thinking about me, I think about the future of majority of poor Tanzanians.....
ORANGE: "There are risks and costs to a program of action. But they are far less than the long range risks and costs of comfortable inaction" John F Kennedy....
Jack FYI there are people disguised as neutral to conceal their positions in Tanzanian politics but in reality they support the green team (for whatever reason), they will tell you how much they stood for change in the past, how much they respect Dr. Slaa and Lipumba and that Lowassa's arrival in CDM is actually what made them change their minds. Please understand the word 'reading' as used at post #162 to mean overall critical analysis....

I understand that people are different, what I was accentuating to Paulo is that if we were in the same plane previously, we were acquainted with where we wanted to go, so there is no point of quiting the voyage just because the new pilot was prejudiced....Jack FYI there are people disguised as neutral to conceal their positions in Tanzanian politics but in reality they support the green team (for whatever reason), they will tell you how much they stood for change in the past, how much they respect Dr. Slaa and Lipumba and that Lowassa's arrival in CDM is actually what made them change their minds.
Typical people are like Pole pole, and they have their siblings and hybrids here in JF as well. You can't make sense out of them.

He is certified to fly a Dreamliner...He has a binding contract with the Airline Company...As a matter of fact, he is not going to wallow alone in that cockpit....There are flight crews but most importantly there are guys working at the air traffic control tower....
The good thing is that when that plane lands safely in 2020 at the land of milk and honey, both the quitters and joiners will enjoy....when it doesn't, both joiners and quitters will suffer in one way or another....people like me and other millions are taking small risks to ensure the plane takes off in 2015......
I like your example.
I have to board this new plane, because the old green plane that took off with us ten years ago landed with us in kalahari desert, their pilot's contract is over. The journey wasn't comfortable at all.
Their company has chosen a new pilot, I'm worried, this time the new pilot of the same old green plane might land us in the middle of the ocean or Antarctica. The green plane might even get lost in the air without trail like Malaysian Airline.
....hahaaa!, you guys!
There is no reason for me to board a dilapidated green plane while I can book a newer, comfortable and faster plane.
This election is about choosing a different path for our country, We, as the citizens of this country we love, have a choice to make about the path we are going to pursue as a country. There are two candidates on the ‘spotlight' with two different paths for our country.
We are going to make a choice about whether to continue on the path we have been on, or try a new prospective path, We are going to choose on whether to continue with the same policies that have brought us here or try new ones.
Magufuli has worked with Kikwete 100% of his time, there is no record of him saying no to any of his policies, which means the policies that have failed and dumped many of us into poverty in Tanzania today are highly likely to be continued by Magufuli. Moreover, Magufuli is in a network where he can't work differently. Lowassa's has worked with Kikwete 20% of his time, he has differed with Kikwete on several occasions, his priority on education was/is in contrast with Kikwete's agricultural priority, he wanted to end Richmond's contract but his efforts were blocked by Kikwete, just to mention a few.
We are going to make a choice about almost everything that matters to us, for instance a choice about:We've got to raise our reasoning beyond the choice of candidates for presidency and think more about the kind of path that we need as a country We have a choice to make the next five years look like the last five (business as usual) or make the next five years look different (business through change)
A government that will invest heavily on education because part of the problem we have today is having many people who can't reason and make choices intelligently…we can't just continue to lower pass marks to paint a picture of an educated population quality not quantity of education matters.
A small government, not the kind of a large ineffective government similar to the one that we had over the last decade that spends public funds unwisely and unnecessarily.
A government that will respect human rights and human dignity not forgetting freedom of press, of speech, of association and of assembly….we can't just continue to have irresponsible law enforcement, intelligence community and military that put the ruling party's interests ahead on the nation's.
The government that will facilitate job creation for the youth…not similar to the one that killed our industries and businesses by putting self-interests ahead of the nation's...not the one that fails to find good markets for our products…..and not the one that allows unregulated importation of products that turns our country into a dumping zone.
A government that will work on an overhauled constitution which will increase accountability, transparency and prosperity not a government that will work with the existing or similar to the existing constitution that has a lot of proven weaknesses.
Attacking Lowassa is trying to make Tanzanians believe that this election is not about a new path for our country…..What the critics fail to understand is that this election is not about Lowassa, it is about us (the citizens)
Working with Kikwete 100% or 20% doesn't mean one will act or work like JK. Both JK and Mkapa worked with Mwalimu and Mzee Rukhsa 100% but both of them were like neither.

On the other hand, Lowassa was thrown out cos of his corrupt acts, by Mwinyi, Mkapa and even by the Kikwete's laissez-faire standards. Lowassa was deemed too corrupt and dangerous to the country.
So let's not pretend that Lowassa is a changed person or will opt out of his corrupt ways and be good for the nation. Lowassa is running to build his weakened empire and is not running to liberate anyone but himself. LOWASSA IS STILL DANGEROUS FOR OUR NATION.

If we really want the election not to be about Lowassa, then we should elect anyone else but Lowassa.
Though the ACT policies seems attractive, their candidate is too raw and without national record. The only other candidate with a record of doing good for the country is Magufuli, whether we like his platform or not.
If we really love our country, I don't see anyone among the candidates who is more QUALIFIED AND HAS STOOD FOR THE COUNTRY MORE THAN MAGUFULI.
The broader question is how Magufuli can change CCM from within.... You dont change a corrupt system by 98% corrupt team ..Hold on a sec, can Magufulis legal team institute criminal proceedings in his new court against Kikwete, Mkapa, Mwinyi, Chenge et al? When the answer is YES, He will be different indeed, When the answer is NO, Its the same old stuff, just a different day ..Working with Kikwete 100% or 20% doesn't mean one will act or work like JK. Both JK and Mkapa worked with Mwalimu and Mzee Rukhsa 100% but both of them were like neither.
Magufuli, Mwinyi and Mkapa all of them have corruption allegations .So, who set the standards? On the other hand, Lowassa was thrown out cos of his corrupt acts, by Mwinyi, Mkapa and even by the Kikwete's laissez-faire standards. Lowassa was deemed too corrupt and dangerous to the country.
There is a certain type of fear that has been instilled in you, we call it Lowassaphobia...try thinking positive outside trepidation and believe in something of your own ..So let's not pretend that Lowassa is a changed person or will opt out of his corrupt ways and be good for the nation. Lowassa is running to build his weakened empire and is not running to liberate anyone but himself. LOWASSA IS STILL DANGEROUS FOR OUR NATION.
I respect your idealism and I share your concerns, but we dont have that time, that boat is long gone Thousands of people from the silent majority are joining the vocal minority each day in the path of change ..just stand your ground .If we really want the election not to be about Lowassa, then we should elect anyone else but Lowassa.
It seems you took Magufulis check without recourse ..Though the ACT policies seems attractive, their candidate is too raw and without national record. The only other candidate with a record of doing good for the country is Magufuli, whether we like his platform or not.
The problem with you guys in green is that you are trying to bury or keep a blind eye on the wrongs of Magufuli, for instance those divulged by CAG .and you can even say he stood for the country! ..If we really love our country, I don't see anyone among the candidates who is more QUALIFIED AND HAS STOOD FOR THE COUNTRY MORE THAN MAGUFULI.
They forget that we have landed in a desert and now we have to choose whether we continue the journey using an old plane with a new pilot or a new plane with a new pilot. Until they are off the radar, that's when they'll know that they have boarded a wrong plane.Well, for some reasons some people still enjoy the bumpy ride and don't seem to care about where this terrible plane is going to land or who the pilot is, they're just going with the ride!
I guess they're too scared to try a different plane. I just hope they'll wake up before it's too late to realize that the plane is descending nose down at the maximum speed :dizzy:
