The malaise we have in our beloved country is a result of 50+ yrs work of your descent politicians, you might want to try entertainers, they might get the job right and take our beloved country in a right path.

Your descent party and politicians have had ample time to do something and give maisha bora at least for half of Tanzania but nothing has been done, just failed policies and promises.
It's about time we give ukawa the stage!

I for one, is like Prophecy Thomas - Seeing is believing. The opposition should tell us what went wrong with our pursue for sustainable development under CCM and its Government. Let them tell us how they are going to correct the identified wrongs, picking from where we are now. In particular their presidential candidate Lowasa and Sumaye, the campaign manager, as they were second in charge in this country. Sumaye has been the longest serving Prime Minister of this country, must be well informed on what went wrong instead of blaming the Party that gave him the chance to be as he is now.

You should be intelligent enough to understand that nothing is wrong with being rich as a politician..Mitt Romney, George Bush, Uhuru Kenyatta are rich people, aren't they? Tell me that he is doing illegal business like Kinana or Ridhiwani, Tell me that he doesn't pay taxes(attach tax returns)....Magufuli is a rich person, isn't he? you see, he built a six storey hotel for just a girlfriend.....But please understand, I'm not interested in cheap and unreasonable arguments.....Are you a secondary school student?

What you don't understand is that this election is about a new path for the country, it is not about candidates per se, refer to the first post.....

However, I want Kikwete to answer Lowassa's argument about Richmond contract..there is no reason for him to be silent...He can help us, don't you think?...By being silent, it clearly means He has to be responsible....

You don't even understand the difference between change and revolution - do you?....You're jumping here and there, you don't even understand yourself.....Do you understand the whole concept of change as preached by UKAWA?..

👍well said! Each one of us, at individual level, should strive for personal development, and collectively it is the country's development. We have to put in place conducive political, socio-economic and technological environment for each individual to do so. On top of that we need committed, selfless and honest people to give them political power. At present, there is none so far, who has proved by tangible evidence and sincere words, amongst presidential candidates, other than JP Magufuli. I rest to be corrected.

What we are discussing here technically are the impacts of the failed policies of Mr. Kikwete....I think he has been president for a decade not three....part of the reason people are angry is what happened between those 10 years....we can prolong those years on essential matters like constitution and problems dating back then....

When talking about years of service with Kikwete you can now understand who participated more than the other....I'm not talking about friendship....
 

I wish to refer you to page 3 of "Nipashe" Daily, with a column entitled "JK ANATUACHAJE" in which details of what Kikwete and his government has achieved during his tenure as President. Challenge those achievements with supporting evidence. Also come up (or the opposition) with alternative strategies that could or would provide better achievements than his. In real life one does an evaluation first, for a strategic way forward.

Who is more entertaining than the guy who in his department more than 262 Billions disappeared and he want to establish a corruption court to presumably apprehend almost all members in his campaign team!!
What's truly depressing is that being the most famous and richest among the candidates, Lowasa has been painted as a irrational, fisadi or an unelectable candidate by CHADEMA themselves.

Richmond is still there and is now wholly owned by Kikwete himself....be updated please Is not what he want, but what we (the people) want is change...from 1961 to the moment we are seeing a lot of mistakes and failures, so we are done with mistakes and failures from the same guys wearing the same green coats....
We need Magufuli to implement laws and not otherwise.!!!

Laws are updated, they become obsolete, they change...that's why we want a new constitution not the same constitution that make the President the pioneer of corruption, injustice and underdevelopment....Magufuli is not thinking about changing the 1977 constitution...he doesn't even think it needs an overhaul....

The government under CCM has failed to balance its budgets...it is now difficult for the government to collect taxes and while it is easy to squander the tax collected, aid provided and loans granted....

We can't continue to scrap tax revenues that we can't pay for...If you are going to let go Corporate taxes (the most absurd idea I ever heard) in Tanzania then you have to explain to us, how you are going to pay for that loss without affecting other essential government expenditures...It is arithmetics....

Corporation is a taxable person e.g a company, unincorporated association, parastatal organization, public international organization, a unit trust excluding partnership....workers pay their income taxes...

Lets do some maths, you scrap corporate taxes just to pay that loss with worker's income taxes...which means you have to raise tax like PAYE to cover for that loss...which means making life harder for the working class...which means a drop in savings and investment at individual levels...which means a hike in interest rates for bank loans...which makes borrowing difficult for businesses (small and large)..which means less investments and less jobs created by the economy....
Look at Switzerland. Virtually no social aid, no free healthcare, no free schools, extremely low personal and corporate taxes. And still happiest and most prosperous society in the world.

Switzerland enjoys a GDP of more than 685 Billion USD, GDP per capita of more than 60,000 USD....the population there is 8 Million people in 2015, it was 5 Million people in 1961(+ 3Million people)...In Tanzania GDP per capita is 600 USD, we are more than 53 Million people, we were 10 Million in 1961 (+ 43 Million people)....which among these two countries is more sustainable? Developed countries are providing food stumps, free health insurance, unemployment benefits to their citizens...do you think those citizens are disabled? ....Investing in education is going to have a ripple effect on the economy over the short, medium and long term....

All those people who want to see changes know that the government is not going to solve all their problems, but just a slight change in priority their lives will be different.....A businessman in Kariakoo who is being forced to buy an EFD machine at a price four times the real price of the machine....A student enrolled in UDOM who has good grades but cannot get student loans because the budget isn't enough....A woman in Mwanza who want to become her Boss but has to pay a lot of bribes just to get her Business started.....A pregnant woman in Singida who has to lie in the same bed with her fellow three women in order to obtain reproductive health care....A farmer in Songea who has his produce but cannot find market and the government is borrowing and doesn't care how how he will survive.....

This is why we need change of policies and path for our country and not just a change of individuals wearing green shirts... We don't need guys whose decisions has cost us public funds instead we need those who save these funds....The government should run more like company's do...companies are aiming to maximize profits with balanced books and the government should balance its budgets and aim at maximizing welfare.....In the corporate world, we can't have Magufuli as the CEO, why should we have him as our top leader?
 
In a democracy, when a government stays in power for decades it becomes stubborn fail to perform and meet its targets....You need to be outside to know how hard it is to get in.....In CCM a leader below the President cannot implement an initiative without being 'surrounded'...these guys have the chance to deliver as they are no longer in the green bondage.....
 
Give us a synopsis of what you saw on that newpaper, tell us briefly how many decent jobs were created, how many people are lifted out of poverty, does it say that life has become easier for ALL Tanzanians, how about how we have benefited from the natural resources we have in this country.

All things education, I'd say, Investing in it should be the first and foremost thing for a country like ours which ' s sadly behind. And making it easier to earn for Tanzanians should be even more important.

Maziku Masunga Jr, do we have social programs working effectively to help a low income Tanzanian?!, cause we all know who's behind it and benefiting from it.

And when you talk about stripping off taxes on major corporations that's pure heartless, you understand we're already suffering from all that as the government is trying to take even more from those who don't have enough to begin with.
You remind me of those blue eyed guys who decides and put stringent rules on what they donate to our poor countries.

Let us not get clouded into thinking that all that needs to be done, will be done by one or two people...UKAWA has policies, targets and goals as a union of four parties and Lowassa has been elected to lead that path of change....

You might describe politicians coming out CCM as the same as those in CCM but that's a FALSE BELIEF...According to your concept of similarity, a person has to stay in a different place for a 'long time' for him/her to be different!!(You can correct me).....

A politician who want to change a political party can do so within hours....I think that's also true...

That similarity is not static, it is inadvertently neutralized and/or changed once a politician has moved to a different party....

More like in a football club, when the club management has signed a new player into the club...the new player (after getting done with the laws and permits) can play the next match against his old team...that player can be a striker and he can score against his old team...He will be following his new team's format, methods, policies, tactics and targets as opposed to his old team's....He will be different that way....

Mwakyembe said in his Report that he has to read HALF of the report for fear to dissolve the whole government under Kikwete, the other HIDDEN HALF, who does it involve? Why is Kikwete not talking about it?
